Ugh I really don't want any country influenced album from Kylie. Though that's what Dancing sounds like. I don't find it memorable. But then again, Kylie's lead singles are almost never a good indication of the sound of the rest of the album.

Maybe (and that's a big maybe) I'll like it someday.

But right now all I can say is "oh no......."

I completely adore “Dancing.” I don’t understand why people hear an acoustic guitar and immediately think “country.” Based on the song and the imagery, she’s clearly going for Nashville camp. Which, yeah, may not be someone’s cup of tea but she’s never sounded or appeared closer to Dolly, one of her idols.

"Dancing" is fantastic. It's pure joy and "Dolly through a Kylie lens" is really the best way to describe it. It's a perfect homage.

To whoever red-dotted me because I didn't post a link to download the song: you're not supposed to link to that kind of stuff on this forum. If it was 'out' out you could have just found it yourself on Spotify or iTunes Music or whatever.

It’s not the same. There’s campy country like the Dolly and Shania brand, there’s newer alternative country acts like Kacey Musgraves, more mainstream acts like Marren Morris. All very different acts with different approaches to incorporating traditional elements of country music - the songwriting, the melodies, the storytelling. Based on what we’ve seen and heard so far, there’s nothing to suggest she’s even going down a country-heavy route. “Dancing” is still quintessential Kylie.

Ooh...! Loving some of those titles. They feel cohesive somehow. I have high hopes for this record even though I still haven’t heard Dancing, Which is absolute torture.
