That's such a typical new mom haircut! I've seen variations of it on female friends who had recently given birth. I imagine that when dealing with a baby, hair down to your ass can be a little unwieldy.

Joanna attended the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party.

If you scroll down, there are a few pictures of them.

Andy Samberg is just unbelievably cute to me. I really want to make out with him. They're so adorable together it's sickening. And I am SOOOOO ready for a new Joanna Newsom record. That is all

Okay maybe that's not all, I'm on a total Ys kick right now.

Who can argue that "Only Skin" is not one of the most amazing musical compositions of all time? It's so gorgeous and rapturous and I'm so intrigued by its lyrics. It seems to be about being love starved, love sick, the death of the flame of love... but then there's all these references I can't connect directly to that theme, including the line "scrape your knee/it is only skin", "a little willow cabin to rest on your knee", the sea, birds, babies...

Also did an actual human being write:

    awful atoll
    - o, incalculable indiscreetness and sorrow!
    bawl, bellow:
Sibyl sea-cow, all done up in a bow

    toddle and roll;
teeth an impalpable bit of leather
    while yarrow, heather and hollyhock
    awkwardly molt along the shore

    If so, HOW?!?!?!

If you haven't read it before, this interview is fantastic. She's such an articulate thinker and communicator. I basically worship her.

All albums now available on streaming platforms Deezer and Tidal! Spotify soon too apparently and maybe already but I don't have that so can't check. Other Drag City artists added or in the process of being added too.

I listened to Ys on Deezer when out shopping and it was glorious and helped deal with the horror that is a supermarket in the UK on a bank holiday Monday.
Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."

They are both so adorable. It’s hard to process seeing her without her long hair.

Stuart Maconie just played Ribbon Bows on his BBC 6Music show Freak Zone. How often do you hear Joanna on broadcast radio!
