I've only recently learned that people largely consider Disco 2 to be a terrible album. That is so crazy to me! It takes me back to such a specific time and place in my life: my younger self, getting high on everything, living for friends, dancing to the point of sweating for hours, coming out of the shame of my youth and for the first time embracing the 'absolutely fabulous' nascent possibilities for delightful subversiveness and sexual exploration that were available to 18-20 year old gay boys at the time.

I've had a lot nostalgia about that period recently, and listening to this a ton.

    White Sea - Tropical Odds

First listen. Not sure if I like it as much as In Cold Blood but it definitely has some great tracks.

i remember buying this single on a girl guide camp and listening to it over and over. Fit in with my Kylie CDs and Now That's What I Call.... double albums, let me tell you.

My music tastes as a child, ladies and gentleman.

So, uh, I think Harry Styles made the best album of 2017 so far. Is this real?

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Party Doll and Other Favorites

She's my current obsession. The Things That We Are Made Of will hands down be my favorite album this year (came out last year, but I just discovered it). I already knew her from her 90s singles, but her entire discography has been a revelation to me lately.

    Juana Molina - Halo

First listen. Really like this, its down-tempo and very off-beat. Everything we've come to expect from Juana.

Their songs are so weirdly sexy. I'm having my first listen now and am up to "Deadcrush". Wasn't sold on "Hit Me Like That Snare", but the rest is fantastic so far.

ETA: "Pleader" is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard this year.

if you ignore the lyrics, they're pretty sexy. Oddly I don't really care or try to decipher the meaning of alt-J like I would other artists, happy to just soak in the melody. My favourite is Adeline so far.

Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."
