GNOD - Just Say No To The Psycho Right-Wing Capitalist Fascist Industrial Death Machine

    Album title of the year.

Steve, you might like this face melting post-punk wall of noise!
Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."

I mostly listen to rock, folk and metal music (my favourite artists right now are Tori, Loreena, Kamelot, Katharine Blake, Poets of the Fall and probably Lana del Rey), but I'm deeply attracted by anything that's industrial-something. A while back I somehow came across this project of a swedish noise musician, Trepaneringsritualen, and I'm honestly enjoying it very very much. Especially when my neighbours are being loud (read: all the time) this is a kind of music I like to put on when I need to relax myself and cover any other sound. I also find black metal to be very relaxing, maybe because sometimes it is some sort of reassuring cacophony.
Trepaneringsritualen have this... esoteric feel that makes me feel serene.

It's also a nice soundtrack to some stuff I'm writing.

Do you remember these guys, One eskimO? they were the opening your for Tori in don't know which tour. Their first album was ok, kind of ethereal pop with sweet lyrics.
This one, Faster Than Turtles, starts with three songs that could've been done by Portishead. That darkness. Then they relax a little, it sounds a little "sunnier" and by the end everything is wrong again and life is meaningless and what happened to these guys how did they got so depressed.
    I'm loving this.

Today it's all about Qntal in my head. I discovered them a billion years ago (2005?) during the Lucca Comics through Brian Froud. I don't remember, I think they were collaborating on something because he had their ads in his stand. Rediscovered them recently, Translucida sounds amazing.

Thanks I have a playlist on Spotify that a friend made for me that's called "Goodnight Lullabies" which is a collection of black metal stuff, like, Carcass, Tiamat, Deicide and so on. I'm not a regular black metal listener but when I'm really pissed off it's kinda relaxing. I had never listened to anything from Burzum, I'll put it in my collection Btw Varg is a really fucked up guy, and I still blame him and his Mayhem friends for ruining the reputation of metal music in the '80s with their mental behaviour.
