    I hurt my back Sunday evening (don't know how) and when I went to my workout session on Monday all I could do were stretches. Then on Tuesday I did light resistance and more stretches. Yesterday was awful - I spend the entire day in bed. It hurt just to cough. Today I was in bed until 3pm. I've had lower back pain before but never for this long. I am hoping that by the weekend it will be gone and I can resume my regular workouts at the gym. BACK PAIN IS THE WORST.

    Post election misery + Thanksgiving = I gained about 4 pounds back. Not a happy camper. But...if I buckle down I know I will lose it.

    I feel you. I'm rapidly approaching 10lbs gained.
    You don't have to do everything all by yourself.

    Hang in there everyone.

    . Struggling so hard right now, despite of having reeled in my gold star / life-time membership with WW few weeks back.

    It somehow feels like a big black hole; the new group won't start until mid-january, and even though I resisted all of the Saint Nicholas confectionary (terrible times in the NL), I still gained weight; almost 1kg. Within two weeks, the fear of the scales has returned and just now I went out running in subzero temperatures, I swear only to prove I can still look dazzling in tight lycra for a while no matter what. I adopt unhealthy strategies on weekends, for example when going to the cinema with a few perma-skinny friends who can seemingly consume infinite amounts of unhealthy foods; I just starve myself all day so I won't feel guilty sharing beers and crispy M&Ms. I just wanted to be like them for one f-ing Saturday night, but of course such behaviour makes you sick.

    ANYWAYS enough sobbing and whining and wifom, what is 1kg anyway on the amounts I've lost? It will be gone in no time. Tomorrow will be so healthy. Full of skyr, pineapple, vegetables and whatnot. I guess I'll have to accept this;

    The holidays are so fucking hard. Between holidays + the god damn election, I basically had a steady stream of cheese n' booze at all times. I stuck to not eating sugar, which was smart and kept me from going completely off the deep, but I had really no energy to be as strict as I needed to be.

    A kg is only like 2.2 pounds or something, right? You can lose that quickly. And you will!

    This time of year is hard because as far back as I can remember it seems like every other day a vendor sends yummy candy, gourmet popcorn, or enormous packages of cheese, crackers & cold cuts and everybody walks into the kitchen and munches on that stuff ALL DAY LONG. Then there are the parties with snacks and a steady flow of booze. Also, x-mas cookies! And then the elaborate Christmas/New Years meals. It's too much.

    Oh the booze. And cheese. I try to supplant it with cottage cheese, cheese spread and cream cheese lite as much as I can, but it never is quite as good as red crust cheddar, cave ripened gruyère, comté, gorgonzola with honey, the real roquefort, need I continue. Another hard day coming up is Sylvester here, because my dad comes from a part of the country where it is TRADITION to bake fresh waffles, roll them into tubes and stuff them with whipped cream and sugar, only to force them down everyone's throats and consume them with loads of Dutch gin. Not to mention the TRADITIONAL "Dutch doughnuts" and fritters and cheese and bubbly wines. This is what it is going to look like the entire evening;

    Jesus. I think I gained a pound just looking at all that! Such beautiful food porn. And I want to try the sparkling wine. Good thing I'm not there.

    .... the set-up is sort of a Foodtruck Festival, though everything is for free 0_o.

    Checking in!

    I am almost done with the third round of the Fitness Blender 8 week program for busy people, which is workouts 30 minutes or less a day 5x a week. It's taken me 11 weeks to finish. But, I usually added on the weekends to make the workouts longer and never did less than 4x a week.

    I also started paying more attention to my macros in MyFitnessPal, making sure I stayed within a percentage point or two with fats, carbs and proteins. I FINALLY got off my plateau after 2 months and am 4.5 pounds away from goal #2. I am super stoked, as I am approaching the weight I was when I got married. Never thought I would see that again!

    As of today, I am down 25 pounds. Only a few more to go and then I'm probably going to go to maintenance mode. Maybe. Unless I feel like getting to the magic number in my head....but I am 35, not 25, so maybe not.

    Congrats, Kari!

    I've decided I really need to focus on fitness. The food for me is too hard right now. It may not lead to as much weight loss as I need...or want, but I was an elite athlete back in the day and while I probably won't ever be "elite" again, I do want to kick ass and take names.

    Pfff guys I had major fallbacks over the past two months, have been like... 3 kiloes above where I want to be since Christmas. But this week I'm doing so well. All kinds of different beans, salads and only alcohol free wines. And sports, too.

    Go you Spikey for getting back on the horse!

    I have gained A LOT of weight since mid January due to a very stressful lifestyle. It sucks, but it is what it is. I may try Nutrisystem or some other diet plan but probably the best thing right now is to just alter my eating habits and start using the treadmill again.
