Probably a dumb question, but who is the guy with Madonna?

It's Jeremy Scott, the designer for Moschino who did her dress.

Her hair looks incredible. Haven't seen it look that good in years.

The outfit though... Suffers from overaccesserizing (like last year's).

I agree- she should cut the accessories by two thirds and ditch the vest completely. The dress is actually pretty hot, and the bra half is killer, if only you could really see it.

I hate that she insists on wearing the grill on her teeth. It looks ridiculous and her speech sounds silly.

Yeah, I have never gotten the grill thing with her... it's really unappealing to my eyes.

The accessories and the grill are meant to be funny and tongue in cheek. I'm surprised after all these years some fans don't get her sense of humor.
People take fashion way too seriously.

I don't disagree with you, but I just prefer fashion choices that are flattering. I don't think grills are ever flattering on anyone, really.

Are we taking it seriously though? Not any more seriously than you're taking our discussion of it. We're here to talk about Madonna, no?

If it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek, the intent is lost on me - and apparently most others, which is why it clearly doesn't work. Heck, for all we know the Midwinter Graces cover was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Does that then make it not bad?

I also tend to think it's an overused excuse for failure. It was meant to be that way! It's funny! Or in Madonna's case - ironic.

That's a ridiculous comparison. Midwinter Graces was obviously meant as a serious project.
Madonna has been asked about the grillz and she makes jokes and laughs about it.
