    PJ Harvey miscellany thread

A thread for random PJ Harvey thoughts/observations etc.

Someone's just made a ton by selling PJH vinyl on eBay - Is This Desire? went for £143 ($230), Stories... for £139 ($224), Rid of Me for £96 ($155), Dry + Demonstration for £93 ($150), and Uh Huh Her for £83 ($134) plus in the 15-20s range for the others.

    That's over £600 (nearly $1000!). Pretty sought-after on record, I see.

This is the vinyl conundrum I've been talking about. Now the real question is: How the heck can we make Polly and EMI/Island aware of this? lol. We need affordable 180 gram vinyl reissues, dammit!

I know! I expected ITD? to go for quite a lot, but not for how much it eventually went for! It looked like the seller had kept them in great condition which was a plus, but the ITD? vinyl seems to be very scarce. I've always seen Stories go for a lot too, and UHH seems rare. If they were affordable I'd definitely be tempted. I remembered what you said Bruce about Polly recording on analogue and as a result it suits vinyl.

Wasn't TBYML reissued a couple of years back?

I once saw a sealed Sheela-Na-Gig 7" go for about $1500. And the same person had pretty rare stuff on vinyl, many of them were Portishead's.

Surprised that the Dry/Demonstration LP didn't go for more. Is that the current market value?

"PJ Harvey has numerous enthusiastic fans who will try and gain access and so security needs to remain vigilant."

Ha! (I can just imagine what Tori's might say.)

That's a pretty modest, fair rider in comparison to other established artists. I love how the chief focus is on privacy, soooooo Peej. And the above quote indeed got a chuckle out of me.

Hahaham that's cute. I once saw a similar rider about a Fiona Apple gig, and all her extremely specific demands for her dressing room. It was cute/weird.
I also wonder if they include Maria's picture in Tori's rider...

Robyn says that she loves Let England Shakes and will watch PJ's concert a coachella.

Awesome! I adore Robyn, so it's especially nice to see her giving a shout-out to our girl Peej. I myself am very curious to see how this tour will translate to a festival audience, as it is a very subdued, nuanced show. We shall see!

What was on Fiona's rider, can you remember? I think she has OCD so she's probably really particular about some stuff.
