I bought this single around the time that it came out and played the shit out of this remix. I almost prefer it to the album version.

In other news, I'm currently obsessed with Spotify and put some Peej tracks on a mix and The Bay came on. I had forgotten not only how great the song is but how ace the production is. Every instrument is crystal clear, it has atmosphere and establishes a mood, meanwhile her vocals are fucking killer, and it's over in under 3:15. She really knows how to economize like no other, it's kind of amazing what she can cram into 3 minutes.

I thought she did a good job, but yeah, it's time to move on Polly!

I am currently listening to TBYML and I have to say, it's great to be reminded how FUCKING AWESOME PJ can be. I don't think I listen to her enough and I never give her the credit she deserves when I think of her.

WHAT IS SHE WEARING?!/ I love it! She looks like a Celtic death goddess/ child soldier/ ghost. I don't really know much about LES but black feathers were sort of a theme in the album artwork, right?

Yep - the black crow / raven is a major recurring visual theme from the album artwork and her performance outfits. In Irish mythology in particular, the black crows and ravens are very much linked to war and battle. (see: the Morrigan).

And of course have carrion crows, who feed on the carcass of a dead animal.

And she pulls it off so well. PJ carries herself with so much confidence and directness. I have loved the outfits from this tour - they are not rock 'n roll sexy like the ones from Stories or Uh Huh Her, but they suit the mood and message of the album perfectly.

Agreed. I love that photo, and I think the feather headdress is fantastic.
