Y KANT TORI FANS READ
I thought it was Riot Proof for YEARS. Was really surprised to learn it's not![]()
Anyone remember "Secret Spill" before ADP came out? That was my fave.
Riot Proof sounds like an actual understandable concept. I remember seeing it listed as proof when the album came out and imagined it would be a tender ballad about being impervious to harm, the riots we all face in day to day life - it sounds perfectly Tori. Riot Poof though, in it's way, sounds even more Tori, though I'd love to hear that alternate reality ballad.

So I have a random question that I thought to post in the aptly-named random tori chatter thread:
is there a general consensus as to who "superfly" is in Tori's songs? As far as I know, superfly was only referenced twice in Tori's catalogue, the first time in Horses and the second time in Mountain.
Any ideas?
I vaguely recall it being Jesus...I don’t know where I heard that though...
I am really enjoying Drive All Night - extremely well done, really interesting!
It's totally Tori.. it's Tori at her best.
Tori talks about the Los Angeles Riots on the 1,000 Oceans DVD Commentary. It seemed to impact her pretty deeply. Wonder if she every put it in a song? I'm sure she did in "her" unique way. I mean, she sings about almost everything.
Miss Vanjieeee. Miss Vanjiee. ..Miss Van..
I always thought Superfly was a reference to the movie, a drug lord, the real deal, and then the person in Horses is a pale imitation of power who can't do anything but sniff a marker. But it's Tori, and Jesus works in the same context.
ETA: In Mountain, definitely Jesus.
