I hate to say it, but I think she's an aggressively bad songwriter.

I think their first album is lovely, and the second has its great moments ... but, really, "Zombie" is one of the most grating singles of the 90's. Their debut is charming, and even though the lyrics aren't anything to write home about, they didn't get in the way of enjoying any of the songs. That increasingly became a problem for them, though.

ummm...Zombie is one of the best songs of the 90s. And I'm not really even a Cranberries fan.

Dolores' solo output is utter shit, a ghastly leap into the trite lyrical abyss which had always plagued the 'Berries. I'll stick with the first 2 albums and just forget everything that came after.
I don't understand the question, and I won't respond to it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the Linkin Park-esque musicality of said solo albums... /vomits

I actually really liked Bury the Hatchett. Guess I'm the only one judging by this thread!

I love the first 3 albums and solidly enjoy BtH, but I can see where the criticisms started to come from. I even think WUaSTC is ok. It's the solo albums that I hate. I was hoping the reunion would help but...

Nooooooooo! Bury the Hatchet is their best album by far!!!!!!!!!!!! And yeah, I'm annoyed by Zombie as well (and Smells Like Teen Spirit, Paranoid Android, or any great song that got grossly overplayed). I'm very fond of..... wait for it.................. Cape Town! No matter how much I play it, I don't seem to get tired of it.

I do believe they are going to be on The View in about 40 or so minutes, according to the preview on the cable thingy.

Well the lil' interview they (well.. she) did on The View left me wanting to know more. oh well.
A little off topic, but the whole show sucked. Barbara infuriated me with the interview she did with the woman who wrote the book about her relations with JFK. I think Walters said "You're gonna sell a lot of books" in a snide manner 5-6 times.
I kept thinking, didn't your book Audition make headlines for the story of your affair that you told decades later? Just rubbed me the wrong way with all kinds of hypocrite.

And then Joy comes out to interview the Cranberries and talked about this album not being as political as Zombie. I think they should have had Whoopi come out.. I assumed she was more of a fan the way she talked about them earlier in the broadcast, but of course I could be mistaken.

the new album is fantastic. im sure it'll be love hate amongst the fans, but on first listen I think it's really nice.

as for DoR's solo output - I think they were respectable to say the least.
