?? The voice over adds to the humor. It’s kind of part of the jokes.

Now Apocalypse is getting to the point there is so much sex that it's pointless and I kind of feel bad for the actors. Every new scene is some new sexual activity. Can you imagine being on that set and reassuring them they weren't making porn?

I'm actually really enjoying Now Apocalypse. I think I'm at episode 6 now? The whole thing feels just like one of Gregg Araki's films and I love that. All of the weird sex scenes make me think of that MTV soap "Undressed".

Veep Season 7. It's hard to say I "loved" the first episode, because it so accurately reflected our real world political situation that it actually really depressed me. But the writing was razor sharp (as always) and I think the whole episode was designed to signal that in its final season, the show isn't going to defy expectations and allow these wretched characters to be anything but awful (which is perfect). I do hate the "pregnant Amy" story line. I hated that they dropped the "surprise" at the end of season six. Just lazy writing IMO. The character deserves something more interesting and less cliche.

Same here. I thought it was great. Araki's been accused of repeating himself, but I'm thrilled to have a teen apocalypse-style series for a new generation, especially since it's not easy to acquire/watch some of his old films (Nowhere! Grrr). The candy colored, neon look of it is fantastic, and I laughed A LOT. I think Severine is one of the most memorable, Araki-esque characters he's ever created. And speaking of memorable — the finale definitely throws in some imagery that it's going to be impossible to forget.

I really enjoyed the too-brief first season of Shrill. Aidy Bryant is a national treasure.

I got a red dot for this, so UPDATE: after the first season, I didn’t mind it so much, and it did become necessary. So yah.

I've been watching "Special" on Netflix about a gay guy with cerebral palsy. It is based on the actor who stars in its life. Very funny and a lot of heart. Definitely recommended!

YAY! I read I'm Special when it first came out and thought it was hilarious and wonderful. The show is even better, though I wish it were longer.

Santa Clarita Diet got canceled. Which is extra crappy because S3 ended on a cliff hanger.

I might be tiring of Netflix. Between a lot of significant rate increases, the canceling of shows I like, the forthcoming Disney service that will take away a lot of Netflix's content *and* be cheaper... I might be done. It's not awful, but I'm not feeling I'm getting the right value for my money and it feels like it's only going to get more expensive with lesser in volume and quantity content going forward.

Has anyone been watching The Act? The story it's based on is bonkers, and it does a great job of grounding the crazy events in reality while also leaving room for humor (the three principle characters are all so pathetic but somehow you feel for them while also laughing at their ridiculousness). Patricia Arquette has really become an incredible actress (I never much cared for her earlier work), and there is a great supporting cast (Chloe Sevigny has a great little role as the hard-ass but caring queen bee of the neighborhood) with some wonderful surprise characters later on in the series. It's a sad story, but so bizarre that it's not too heavy. I'm loving it and I can't wait for the last episode!

Dead To Me on Netflix is awesome. It has Christina Applegate. Which is really already enough. I think the premise is really interesting and I laughed out loud a few times 😊
