Roy Ashburn has actually turned around and started uh... fighting for his rights rather than fighting against them like the wackadoo closet case he was.

Roy Ashburn doesn't seem like he's a bad guy, but George Rekers is a hateful, ignorant, self-loathing hypocrite: http://www.amazon.com/Shaping-your-c...6786802&sr=8-2

Priest used church money for hotels, dinners and male escorts:

Don't really know if this belongs here. He's admitted he is gay and says he does not agree on the church's stance on homosexuality.

However, he used about 1.3 million of the church's coffers to fund his party boys, even paying for one's rent and tuition into harvard. I don't know if I'm outraged or jealous:

I also posted that in the Catholic Church scandal thread. It's a good one when you can spread the hypocrisy over many threads!

    Eddie Long!

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/09/25/...stor.services/

Atlanta, Georgia (CNN) -- Five days after the first of four lawsuits claiming he coerced young males into sexual relationships was filed, Georgia pastor Eddie Long will take to the pulpit Sunday to tell his side of the story.

Long, who led the growth of the Atlanta-area New Birth Missionary Baptist Church to 25,000 members, is expected to speak on the matter during the 8 a.m. worship service and again at a 10 a.m. news conference.

The pastor, on the advice of his lawyers, has had little to say until now.

"Let me be clear: The charges against me and New Birth are false," Long said in a statement released Thursday. "I have devoted my life to helping others and these false allegations hurt me deeply, but my faith is strong and the truth will emerge."

The four men who brought lawsuits this week in DeKalb County, Georgia, State Court claim that Long took them on overnight trips to various locations within the United States and beyond, sharing a room and engaging in sexual contact with them, including massaging, masturbation or oral sex.

The lawsuit filed Friday by a Charlotte, North Carolina, man says Long uses church money and other accounts to entice young men with cars, clothing, jewelry and electronics.

Long's spokesman and church members say it is appropriate he first speak in detail about the civil lawsuits with his church family.

"I stand behind the bishop because of the leader that he is. He is a true leader. The word that he gives is so rich, it is so life-changing," New Birth member Gary Foster Jr. told CNN Saturday night.

He and two other young church members said Long is family-oriented, a mentor and a respected leader who has helped families and individuals.

Gabrielle Richards, who has attended New Birth for nearly eight years, said she has seen no evidence that Long is a pedophile.

A former New Birth employee said he hopes the allegations are not true, but he wants to hear from Long so that the "cloud of suspicion over him can be dispersed."

"The information is certainly damaging," Kevin Bond said. "The evidence ... all of that is very troubling to many of us in the gospel community, the Christian community."

Rep. Christopher Lee is a married Republican congressman serving the 26th District of New York. But when he trolls Craigslist's "Women Seeking Men" forum, he's Christopher Lee, "divorced" "lobbyist" and "fit fun classy guy." One object of his flirtation told us her story.

On the morning of Friday, January 14, a single 34-year-old woman put an ad in the "Women for Men" section of Craigslist personals. "Will someone prove to me not all CL men look like toads?" she asked, inviting "financially & emotionally secure" men to reply.

That afternoon, a man named Christopher Lee replied. He used a Gmail account that Rep. Christopher Lee has since confirmed to be his own. (It's the same Gmail account that was associated with Lee's personal Facebook account, which the Congressman deleted when we started asking questions.)

By email, Lee identified himself as a 39-year-old divorced lobbyist and sent a PG picture to the woman from the ad. (In fact, Lee is married and has one son with his wife. He's also 46.)

Three hours after his shirtless Craigslist antics appeared on this site, Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY) announced his resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives. Moments ago his office sent the following press release to the media:

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 9, 2010

Statement from Congressman Chris Lee (NY-26):

"It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Western New York. I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness.

"The challenges we face in Western New York and across the country are too serious for me to allow this distraction to continue, and so I am announcing that I have resigned my seat in Congress effective immediately."

    What a douche bag.

    ^ hmm, he's kinda cute. :/
It basically comes down to that word: love. I guess that's what it's all about.

How dumb can one man be??? Obviously arrogant enough to think he could not possibly get caught. My rule is that the person(s) beating loudest on the drum is usually the one doing the deed. I mean, I'm beginning to believe that most Republicans are either in the closet or, as my Grams used to put it, messin' 'round that old cat house. It IS different for Democrats because even if they are closeted or flunking out in fidelity, they don't run on morality platforms. The fact that Republicans haven't figured out that running on smug self-righteousness mixed in with a heavy dose of family values is a recipe for political DOOM!!

Chris Lee + Transgendered Women = The Real Story?

Taken together, they present a possible explanation to those who have wondered why such a tame "sex scandal" forced Lee's hand so quickly.
In January, Lee sought to bring a conclusion to what was largely considered one of the shortest Capitol Hill scandals of all time when he abruptly resigned just hours after the release of a picture and email correspondence with a single Maryland mother.
