At this point it'd be easier if you guys just insisted on a second referendum.

It's a good job we didn't end up with that coalition of chaos.

Jeremy Hunt as foreign secretary. Fuck's sake. The man is an absolute Jeremy Hunt.

At this point it would be easier to just sink our whole stupid, angry island into the sea.

And with the continuing emphasis on the removal of freedom of movement we can't even escape rainysweaty fascist island.

But football! I'm sure that will bring out the best of British on public transport over the weekend.

Salzburg was humiliating, Chequers is dead... Where does the UK government go from here?

Shailesh Vara, Dominic Raab, and Esther McVey have resigned.

Is there going to be a cabinet left by lunchtime?

    ETA:

Suella Braverman (who she?) and Anne-Marie Trevelyan gone as well.

Jacob Rees-Mogg and Henry Smith have both submitted letters requesting a vote of no confidence in Theresa May. I don't know how close to the 48 needed to trigger a vote that takes it to now.

    I hate them all.

It looks like the ERG were bluffing and are actually unable to produce the 48 letters.

In other news, Jeremy Cobyn seems to think that the transition period is on the table with no withdrawal agreement.

And not to be outdone, David Davis has actually published an article saying “if necessary, we will leave with no deal, and negotiate a deal during the transition period.” Again forgetting that said transition period is only granted provided they pass the deal they have now before March.

    What a mess.

The ruling from the ECJ this morning says that the UK can revoke Article 50 as long as it's in good faith. Could it happen? May's deal is dead. This feels like a season finale of a political drama (that some may deem a bit over the top dramatic, but hey, life's stranger than fiction).

    Strong and stable.

    ETA:

European commission says it will not renegotiate withdrawal agreement
The European commission has said that it will not renegotiate the withdrawal agreement. At a press briefing the commission’s spokeswoman Mina Andreeva said:

We take note of the court of justice judgment today on the irrevocability of article 50.

We have an agreement on the table which was endorsed by the European council in its article 50 format on the 25th November.

As President Juncker said, this deal is the best and only deal possible. We will not renegotiate - our position has therefore not changed and as far as we are concerned the United Kingdom is leaving the European Union on the 29th March 2019.
