^ I really like the LES b-sides, The Nightingale & The Guns Called Me Back Again.
The Nightingale is actually becoming one of my favourite PJ Harvey songs.

Boosting this to update! As PJ is halfway through the third decade of her career, I'm going to break the 18 tracks rule. 26 tracks, for me, is showing restraint. She would be perfectly justified in doing a 5-disc retrospective box set at this point, but you know she would consider that "excessive." Good ol' Peej.

    Disc 1

    Disc 2

    4 - Driving (4 Track Demo version)
    5 - Memphis
    6 - Fountain
7 - Down By The Water
    8 - The Dancer
    9 - I Think I'm A Mother
    10 - Teclo
    11 - Rid of Me
    12 - The Letter
    13 - The Glorious Land
    14 - The Orange Monkey
    15 - Who The Fuck?
    16 - Dress
    17 - It's You
18 - No Girl So Sweet
    19 - Angelene

a greatest hits of just her singles would be fucking amazing in its own right, but in terms of my favorites and what i consider essentials, and also representative of each proper solo album, limiting myself to 18, i'd go with the following with this image:

    1. Dress
    2. Rid of Me
    3. Missed
    4. 50 Ft. Queenie
    5. Man-Size
    6. Reeling
    7. Down By the Water
    8. C'mon Billy
    9. Long Snake Moan
    10. Angelene
    11. A Perfect Day Elise
    12. Big Exit
    13. A Place Called Home
    14. One Line
    15. Shame
    16. The Devil
    17. The Last Living Rose
    18. The Wheel

    My Beautiful Leah
    Send His Love To Me
    Written on the Forehead
    Dress
    Man-Size
    Working For The Man
    On Battleship Hill
    Teclo
    Black Hearted Love
    The Glorious Land
    Angelene
    The Dancer
    Dear Darkness
    Big Exit
    We Float
    Robbing the muse...

I am heartbroken that only one of you has included Shaker Aamer on your retrospective.

My post ( a few posts up ), is from before that song even existed.
