Wow wow wow! Best superhero movie EVAH!!!!!!
From now on, all things must be written and directed by Whedon.

Also, how funny was the Hulk?!? You know which bit(s) I'm talking about!

That was a shitty move on Whedon's part. I hope (more of a wish, really) Nick Fury was lying.

    I just loved Agent Coulson's fanboy-ism.

just saw it. It was fucking awesome. What a great move to have all the expository scenes interlaced with humor. It was just so much fun the whole way through. I will most likely be seeing it again on Wednesday since it's my day off. Anyone see it in 3D? Would it be worth it?

I watched it in 3D and it looked pretty damn good. It was all done with a sort of subtlety instead of WOWLOOKATTHISCOMINGRIGHTATYOU that some other 3D movies have done in the past.

    Thanks be to Joss.

And Mark Ruffalo (and the other guy) for stealing the whole show.

Saw it today and loved it. Definitely brought the Joss Whedon magic. (Side note, though: everyone in the theater was SO. FUCKING. OBNOXIOUS. I haven't actually been in a theater in a while...is it now common practice for people to go to movies but act as if they are sitting in their own living room? Everyone talked through the whole thing, and any remotely humorous moment no matter how small was met with braying choruses of donkey laughter and comments like, "I'm gonna Facebook that later!" It made me want to ragequit humanity).

Am I the only person who HATES 3D? We saw it in 3D only out of obligation - it's a lovely cinema and part of a small chain, but I'd rather 2D IMAX (which is apparently imaginary nowadays). I find in big action scenes, it's impossible to enjoy anything on the perphiary of the main action because it's blurred, and it makes everything darker. Grr!!

So I suppose it depends if you get on with 3D or not!

I think 3D is overrated, so we went and saw it in 2D and it was fantastic.

Saw it in 2D. Wearing glasses over glasses is flat annoying and 3D doesn't really add to the storytelling does it? No it doesn't. If the writing sucks, the special effects aren't going to make the writing better.

I really liked the movie although Thor needed to be shirtless at least once and it would have been perfect. Dude, you've traveled across vast swaths of time and space. Wouldn't a shower have been nice? Pamper yourself and my eyes a little.

This is why I ask. If the 3D doesn't really add anything to it then I'll just see it in normal format again. The only kind of 3D that seems to bother me is the kind they add in after the film has been made. That always gives me a headache. In general, 3D really only works for certain kinds of movies, mainly animation, otherwise it is pretty overrated. It was definitely fantastic for Coraline though!
