50 Words for Snow is beautiful and I always love listening to it.
I denounce this person! Aerial's cute but it doesn't move me beyond "Bartolozzi" and "Coral Room" and I no longer find the second disc particularly exciting save for when she chirrups over minimal piano like an avian Meredith Monk. Too much close-mic'd Rolf Harris for these young ears, too. And there was some blasphemous early-Kate sidelining going on in this list...

    it's more like:

    1. Never For Ever
    2. The Dreaming
    3. Hounds of Love
    4. 50 Words For Snow
    5. Lionheart
    6. The Kick Inside
    7. Aerial
    8. The Sensual World
    9. Director's Cut
    10. The Red Shoes

Lionheart isn't always super interesting but it tributes Kurt Weill and rennaissance-era English folk (Coffee Homeground, the title track) and goes deep with the gay feelings ("Wow", "Kashka") where TKI doesn't so it's superior overall. Director's Cut is sort of exhilaratingly weird at times and its "Woman's Work" is a lovely (tho inferior) alternative to the original but it doesn't half drag. The Sensual World has GLORIOUS bookends but I don't like the, er, books themselves much at all (beyond "Never Be Mine"). The Red Shoes has nice vocals and two songs I kind of like (the title track, "Song of Solomon") but the latter of the two is still p corny.

My revised list - I've thrown in the live albums because I think BTD deserves to be included.

    1. Hounds of Love (1985)
    2. The Dreaming (1982)
    3. Aerial (2005)
    4. Before the Dawn (live album) (2016)
    5. Never for Ever (1980)
    6. The Kick Inside (1978)
    7. 50 Words for Snow (2011)
    8. The Sensual World (1989)
    9. The Red Shoes (1993)
    10. Director's Cut (2011)
    11. Lionheart (1978)
    12. Live at Hammersmith Odeon (live album) (1994)

I'd put Before The Dawn sided with Aerial, really. The Sky of honey session is amazing, and I listen basically to it when I feel like listening Aerial.

Honestly, I love all of them. I just love some a *little* more than others. The Dreaming is forever bæ, and then all of the others shuffle ever so closely behind.
I don't understand the question, and I won't respond to it.

Not sure if I have ever done this. Kate is my favourite musical artist after Tori.

    The Dreaming
    Hounds of Love
    Aerial
    The Kick Inside
    Never for Ever
    The Sensual World
    Lionheart
    50 Words for Snow

    50 Words for Snow
    a bit different now:

    Hounds of Love/The Ninth Wave
    The Dreaming
    Never For Ever
    ---
    Aerial (A Sky of Honey)
    The Sensual World
    The Kick Inside
    ---
The Red Shoes - this would rank much higher with better production
    Aerial (A Sea of Honey)
    Lionheart
Before The Dawn -- minus like 100 points for no visual component!
50 Words For Snow - grew on me immensely, but still for very specific moods
    --
Director's Cut -- grew OFF me, too many blah choices in production & editing
