Interesting and SO COOL. Unfortunately, apparently not available for download (I'm not a streaming music person, kill me!)

I listened to it a minute ago. Admittedly, I'm not an early Madonna era fan, but I didn't think the 30 anniversary collection sounded that great. The mixes are very dated (understandably).

Yeah this "release" is bullshit. It's basically just a playlist of stuff that's been around. They aren't remastered or anything, and, no Promise to Try? I get her focus is on the new album, but this was pointless really.

Some great new anniversary merchandise is up on her official online store, too:

Isn't this a Warner release? I figured the Warner label released this without her being involved since she's no longer under contract with them (right?), but I could be wrong. I don't mind it for what it is.

Any artist as big as Madonna gets creative approval and has the authority to approve anything put out with her name on it. Creative approval is a whole different category than recording and publishing rights. It is possible that she has granted them some scenarios or conditions in which they can do stuff without her explicit consent, I suppose. But that would be pretty rare for someone at her level who considers herself more than a legacy act, living off royalties while watching daytime television all day.

What is it about the vocals that you don't like?
Her vocals on Promise to Try get me, but Oh Father is a close second.
