I wonder what TBK would have sounded like if she stripped back all the guitar, all the little unneccessary 'yai-da-dai-da' harmonies and all the sugary affectations. I think I'd like to hear her sing the album after a few bottles of her favourite chardonnay, completely stripped back at the piano, and maybe then we could judge the album fairly, but right now when I listen back I hear too much band, guitar and drum and a sickly sweet approach to everything.

The album cover is sadly very reflective of the music, but I love some of the associated shots that were featured inside, many of which are superior to the chosen cover. I've also wondered why the piano book chose a different cover than the CD?

I couldn't find a decent version of general joy solo from 2005 tour, but it was good, and there was a beautiful version of ireland on the organ, but it's not on the tube anymore.

I've wondered that, too (and I'm grateful I don't have to look at that photo whenever I reach for the songbook). I can't help but think she must have had regrets about the cover; I sure would've.

I believe the Who Killed Amanda Palmer songbook also uses a different photograph. I don't think it's entirely unheard of

True, but all the rest of Tori's songbooks have the album cover on them. Who knows?

Yeah she said in an interview (I think) that the label chose the artwork, and she found out what they had chosen when it was already set to print or something like that. It was clear that they were trying to do everything in a hurry.

I think the cover was a poor choice. And baffling too, because some of shots from inside the CD inlay are actually really beautiful.
