I've always loved Winter's Carol, but yesterday discovered that it's dreadful and completely unlistenable when stoned. Lots of issues (that I vaguely remember at best!) but I felt especially horrified when she sang "The summer QU-HE-EEN, has been in DAR-HAK-NESS". Not sure I will ever be able to hear it the same again.

I had made an alternate cover for MWG that didn't feature any of the actual MWG photos, if I can find it I'll post it for those who loathe the whole artwork.
I personally think that the 'snow madonna' pictures are the only pretty ones, and that one that Silver used is probably the cutest, but yeah all the photos are unfortunately binnified and therefore much flawed as source material for alt covers.

Edit: here it is. The picture I think is from the Helsinki 2011 show?

    Very pretty.

Does anyone else like "What Child, Nowell"? I think it's one of the best, very traditional but with unmistakably "Tori" changes and additions. The production is actually nice, and except maybe for the weird drawing out of "Nowell", a decent vocal.

I cheated with my MG playlist by adding NOH tracks... but this sounds NICE:

    What Child, Nowell
    Snowblind (Instrumental)
    Star of Wonder
    Candle/Coventry Carol
    Jeanette Isabella (Acoustic)
    Snow Angel (Gold Dust)
    Holly, Ivy & Rose
    Job's Coffin
    Good King Wenceslas
    Emmanuel
    Winter's Carol
    Seven Sisters
    Carry
    Our New Year
    Comfort & Joy

1,000 x better than any of the official artwork.

“What Child, Nowell” is my favorite of her versions of classic carols on MWG!

Dusted this cd off today and played it on my drive to work. I mostly love this album. Holly, Ivy and Rose and Winter's Carol are my favorites. I only dislike Harps of Gold and Pink & Glitter.

I still think that A Silent Night With You could have been a hit if they had promoted it better.

I wouldn't mind another Winter Solstice/Xmas album from her as long as she put a little more care into it and no Harps of Gold cringers. Something more pagan would be very welcome.

I heard Pink and Glitter on the Muzac (sp?) feed while shopping at my local warehouse discount store yesterday, and it made me very happy. Smiled through my entire shopping trip. I really like this song with the jazzy horns and all. I remember she performed it live on one of the late night shows (Letterman?) and killed it.

Yeah it does sound really nice, but the lyrics make me puke. And the sound doesn't go well with the rest of the album. It's like the Professional Widow remix stuck in the middle of a cd.

It would be interesting if Tori used heavy brass on her next album. That's something she hasn't explored too much.

    God no.

Yeah I would have to say no. Even her peer haute artistes Bjork and Zola Jesus couldn't carry a whole album of brass & horns (Volta and Taiga)

Ok, it would be fun if she released a 5 track mini album that featured brass.
I just wish she would release some mini albums. Little tiny things.

Me too - love that idea.
