    Icon15 Aimee Mann

Another sadly underrated artist. I love her so much, she's the most amazing lyricist and has such a gift for melody. She's far more fun live then her wonderfully depressing songs would suggest.

This video is ancient but it was my first exposure to Aimee and resulted in me becoming a huge fan:

What's she up to these days? I love her work but haven't heard anything since the December '08 tour.

I love Aimee more and more all the time. She's one of those subtle artists who gets under your skin and stays there. I'm actually more a fan of her more recent stuff (Lost in Space - present), though stuff like "Red Vines" is wonderful. . "Little Bombs" might be my favourite song of hers.

And yes, she's hilarious live! The show I went to of hers wasn't very well attended and she made it feel like we were all in her living room.

I saw her in October 2008 in London but haven't heard anything from her since. She seems to do a pretty good job of avoiding the media spotlight.

Aimee! God, yes, terribly underrated. I've been a huge fan since Bachelor No. 2 came out (as a lot of other people, I'm sure). Subtle is a perfect way to describe her. Lost in Space holds a really really special place for me. It came out during a terribly difficult point in my life, and I found strange comfort in her music.

She's actually working on a musical based on The Forgotten Arm story. I don't know details, though, but she's mentioned it on Twitter fairly often (just the other day she mentioned it again, actually. They're taking a break and picking up again in August, I believe.)

Cool! I hadn't thought to look for her on twitter. Now following @aimeemann.

Good to see a few more Aimee fans in the house.

I've seen Aimee Mann live a couple of times. Once in Nashville and once in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on her last tour. She indeed puts on a great show. She has great banter and stories between songs, and well her songs are amazing.

I'm never not in the mood to listen to Aimee Mann. To me, she's the perfect pop songwriter and she's always totally listenable! And I honestly hope to look as good as she does when I'm her age!

    I don't know how many times I've seen her now.... 8? 10?

Anyway, I'm going to all of the shows at Yoshi's. I can't believe she's playing there! It's such a small venue. Vienna Teng just played there last year. And she's big in CA. Hmmm. OH WELL. It makes for a more intimate show!

I'll have to have a think about that!
Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."
