    Rank the albums?

    1. Bachelor #2
    2. I'm With Stupid
    3. Whatever
    4. Lost In Space
    5. One More Drifter In The Snow
    6. Smilers
    7. The Forgotten Arm

    Favorite Collaboration

TIE: That's Me Trying (which never fails to make me weep) and One, with Jon Brion from the Magnolia Soundtrack.

I don't understand the question, and I won't respond to it.

My favourite lyricist of all time!! She's like the Dorothy Parker of pop.......I'm even a great fan of the 'til Tuesday stuff...."Everything's different Now" being one of my all-time favourite albums.

    1 I'm with Stupid
    2 Bachelor no 2
    3 Whatever
    4 Lost in Space
    5 The Forgotten Arm
    6 Smilers
7 One more drifter in the snow

I think Aimee Mann is probably the only artist that I listen to every day, there's just always room for her clever and bitter little tunes.

oh man, it's been so long since I've listened to Aimee! She hasn't been on my itunes since I lost my music and had to start over again... I'd forgotten how much I loved her. There's something so comforting about her music and her lyrics. I started off with Forgotten Arm, and it's still probably my favorite album of hers (followed closely by Lost In Space). Little Bombs is one of the greatest songs out there.

I like her. I don't really follow her anymore, though ... her stuff started to feel really samey to me, covering the same ground again and again. She does what she does very well, I just kind of lost interest.

That said, I think Bachelor No. 2 and Whatever are stellar pop/singer-songwriter albums. The former was one of my favorite albums from last decade.

    1. Lost in Space (by a mile - I've actually been bingeing on this album all month and I still think it's a total masterpiece)
    2. Smilers
    2.5 Magnolia ST
    3. The Forgotten Arm
    4. Bachelor #2
    5. Whatever

I don't have the others yet, unfortunately. I've never really gotten into Whatever or most of the non-Magnolia tracks on Bachelor #2, except for Just Like Anyone. Top songs, anyone?

    1. It's Not
    2. The Moth
    3. Little Bombs
    4. Little Tornado
    5. Wise Up
    6. Borrowing Time
    7. Just Like Anyone
    8. Humpty Dumpty
    9. I've Had It
    10. Medicine Wheel

Isn't Mr Harris a gorgeous little song? A nice reminder that she isn't always making happy hour bitterly ironic.

That said - Stupid Thing - acoustic:

    Wow.

I just made a 'best of Aimee' disc for some friends who had a baby girl and called her Aimee, but had never heard of A. Mann. It has reminded me what a superlative lyricist and songwriter she is. I cannot believe she is now in her 50s! I wish she would come back and play in the UK again. Lost in Space is absolutely her finest hour, I think. It's up there with Scarlet's Walk for me as a masterpiece of lyrics and mood. I have been listening to my mix myself non-stop, and am rather pleased with it (if I say so myself). Here's the tracklisting... (Deathly has the best opening line ever)

    1. Deathly
    2. Humpty Dumpty
    3. That's Just What You Are
    4. I Should've Known
    5. Save Me
    6. Just Like Anyone
    7. You Do
    8. Frankenstein
    9. Nightmare Girl
    10. Lost In Space
    11. Freeway
    12. 4th of July
    13. Great Beyond
    14. That's How I Knew This Story Would Break My Heart
    15. Choice In The Matter
    16. Little Tornado
    17. Long Shot
    18. Invisible Ink
    19. It's Not

    Humpty Dumpty
    How Am I Different
    Long Shot
