He was also the uncle of Victoria Legrand of Beach House. Very prominent when I was younger, but he was still doing the deal. He scored a film just last year, and he had concert dates scheduled! Rest In Peace, good sir.

I can't be the only one of a certain age for whom he'll always be Daddy Warbucks. Not that he wasn't great in other things, but that movie got stuck in my brain big time.
I'm of the certain age that knows enough to give him kudos for his "angry young man" roles, and his standout performances in such movies as Night Must Fall, Tom Jones, Erin Brokovich, Miller's Crossing, and The Dresser. But this is the movie that I'll always identify him with. He was so besotted with Audrey Hepburn that his presence just burned through the screen.
