The supermarket tabloids have had her on her deathbed for the last twenty years.

    Rest in peace, ma’am.
And it's going to be how do we think government should work and who do we think government should work for?

    I really enjoyed this one

I was sad that he died but then everyone keeps sharing funny videos and I spent a lot of time laughing. It was like a private wake.

Absolutely one of the best TV comedians. We’ve added two people to the Emmy memorial reel in the last few days.

Gloria Vanderbilt, fashion designer and mother of Anderson Cooper has died at 95.

(And now I've fallen into a rabbit hole of wikipedia articles on this family. Her mother's twin sister was mistress of Edward VIII, right before Wallis Simpson, who was her close friend and whom SHE introduced to Ed! Oops. Man, that guy certainly had a type, they looked so much alike, lol)

Ross Perot yesterday and Rip Torn last night

I had just watched a movie with a funeral for his character this week. I hate when coincidences like that happen. Or having to explain why he wasn't in certain movies to the kid because

In January 2010, Torn, intoxicated and armed with a loaded revolver, was arrested after he broke into a Connecticut bank after closing hours. He pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence.

Blade Runner was the first movie I saw him in. I was intrigued from the get-go. He was a scene stealer. That end scene posted above was the reason I went back to see the movie again. It changed his character so completely in just a couple of minutes, the re-watching of the film was better the second time around.

RIP, other Rutger. As a kid, I watched reruns of his first time on the screen, in a children's fantasy series where he played a knight claiming his fief (1969). You can even watch it in high quality with English subtitles on Youtube now. I wonder if that sparked my obsessions for medieval times, fantasy themes and hot men in tight clothing?

David Berman, acclaimed US indie songwriter, dies aged 52

Oh no, this is terrible news to wake up to. The album he just put out as Purple Mountains is a gem.
Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."

A lot of musicians were broken up about that. Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz), who I follow on Twitter, tweeted about it a few times. She, like Berman, is both a songwriter and a published poet, which is actually not that common. I think I want to check out his music.
And it's going to be how do we think government should work and who do we think government should work for?
