America is officially up shit creek without a paddle…
My favorite Geico commercial is the one with the band Europe. “IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!”

If you've never listened to her before, I highly recommend checking out her many recordings.
I'm a sucker for a rich voiced soprano, and she did some wonderful recordings of Maher, Strauss, and Wagner..
NYT has included a handy spotify playlist and youtube links of some moments from her greatest recordings which is worth diving into also. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/01/a...formances.html
Indeed a loss. The first I heard her was singing La Marseillaise.
Alexey Leonov.

Congressman Elijah Cummings
I am shocked.

Apparently, he was chairing committee meetings by remote, from his hospice bed.
He fought like hell for progressive ideals while remaining friendly with both sides. Both Ds and Rs are heartbroken today.
We need more people like him.
