Sadly, he will probably only be remembered in the UK for this series of monstrosities:

He called Richard Littlejohn an arsehole on live television so some credit for that.

Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."

Not a celebrity or a name I recognised:

Etch A Sketch inventor André Cassagnes dies at 86

but I bet many of us here have enjoying playing with an Etch A Sketch at some point.

It is with great regret that we at Robin's official fansite have to announce his sudden and unexpected passing. He was an amazing and wonderful man and we are all heartbroken. Please raise a glass and toast to the life and career of the wonderful Robin Sachs.
    I also saw this:

You don't have to do everything all by yourself.

Not sure if many people here will know her, but country singer Mindy McCready shot and killed herself.

She was huge in country music in the 90s. I had no idea she struggled with addiction and mental illness. Apparently her husband killed himself a month ago.

oh my goodness how horrible. She had a hard life all around. I liked her music in the 90s, and then seeing her on Celebrity Rehab, it was just so sad. She had just lost her son recently too, I think.

I've only known her from the tabloids - they were starting to implicate her in her husband's death too. She struggled for a long time. I feel for her boys - losing a parent is never easy but damn - suicide. Its such a sad sad story all around.

Awww. I used to watch The Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles with my parents when I was young.
