I kind of hope a new song, maybe the entire album, just drops with little fanfare beforehand so that we don't analyze it to death before it's even here.

i cringed yesterday when watching the carry video at the 22 second mark. i just, ugh, i can't believe that's her. i think someone had that screenshot in their avatar or something on here. it caught me completely off-guard since it's been a long time since i 've watched that video.

I think I was in the wrong thread, because I posted in the Native Invaders thread that I thought "Cloud Riders" was shit
and that it sounded like this

    and everyone got pissed off.

I don't think it's the fact you think it's shit, more the fact you basically characterised those of us who like or love this song as deluded morons for not sharing your opinion. :-D

Most of us here well understand the frustration you are feeling that a new Tori song is disappointing to you. We've pretty much all been there and done that. Just maybe don't make sweeping assumptions about the knowledge / taste / sanity of people who don't see things the way you do?

I am very fond of "Flicker."

Not only do I believe that it is a beautifully realised commission, I also believe it holds up as a significant track in Tori's repertoire. Maybe it's because I personally relate to the film's subject matter and what the song talks about, but I get unfathomably emotional and have had other people with similar experiences tell me it does the same for them. She certainly tapped into something with "Flicker" and I have a hard time understanding why production choices seem to conceal the song's essence in the eye (or ear) of many. I think "Flicker" is a lot more interesting than a great majority on Geraldines, at least musically.

I'll definitely be requesting it at the shows.

I realized I still love Fire to Your Plain, and it's been since 2009. I wish she'd play it more often, it's gorgeous solo.

I tried to listen to Dark Side of The Son for the eclipse and realized that I didn't like that song.

Also, the only thing I'm looking forward to hearing is Reindeer King.

I think my fandom may really be extinguished.
