Every live episode of MFM that I hear blows me away with how hype the audience is - lucky you!

I could get my car signed! I forgot about that. Though if I went it would be more likely to get my car stolen... I'd go to Tori alone, but comedy? I'd rather have someone to giggle with and no one seems receptive to giving it a chance. But I don't think it's WEIRD to go alone, just a little out of my comfort zone. Maybe next time they come around.

The audience at the Beacon was definitely hyped.

Karen busts out into a rendition of "Tomorrow" from Annie: wild cheering!

Georgia says her dad is in the audience: wild cheering!

Karen shows off a rip in her stockings: wild cheering!

The gals tell murder stories: wild cheering!

Adorable audience member gets up to tell about a murder from his hometown: wild cheering!

Sooooo...I have a new commute and more time to listen to podcasts than ever before, and I keep running out. I'd love some suggestions (and I'm amused to see that this thread started seven years ago and that podcasts are still - and moreso - a thing).

What I listen to consistently (I already have so many but NEED MORE):

Welcome to Nightvale (going to see the live show for the second time next month!)
Within the Wires (which I far prefer to Alice Isn't Dead, but Alice is also great and S2 comes out soon!)
    This American Life
    The Sporkful
Dear Sugar (though sometimes Steve annoys me and I have to take a break)
    Missing Richard Simmons (obvs)
    Note to Self
    Death Sex and Money
    What's the Tee
    Savage Lovecast
    Reply All
    Radiolab
    The Heart (sometimes)
In the Dark (which is now over for the time being but highly recommended if you like true crime/Serial as I did)

*delurking and reviving a thread all in one go!*

Is it tacky to mention my own podcast? Probably, but:

"Do you like podcasts? Do you like mean old southern ladies? Do you like mournful nostalgia, "dysfunctional" family stories, and scratchy archival recordings? In Momorium (a punnily named multimedia storytelling podcast about grief) combines audio recordings from 1978 to 2009 and readings of documents from the 1960s to the 2010s with narration from today. Through these elements, we examine the life and death of our subject, Debbie."

I am currently listening to back episodes of "The Greatest Generation" - a podcast by two guys who watch episodes of Star Trek: TNG and "talk" about it, make jokes, etc. It's pretty funny and as a life long fan of ST:TNG it's fun to hear people say some of the same things I've been saying about it for decades. LOL

    Also loving:
Wine for Sophisticated Homies (two sommeliers talk about wine)
Limetown (don't want to give it away, just look it up and listen, trust me)
    Tested (Adam Savage of Mythbusters)
You don't have to do everything all by yourself.

I would highly recommend LifeAfter - its a dramatic narrative podcast, and I was soooo addicted to it. There are about 12 episodes or so. I was riveted from start to finish!

While not as good as Limetown, The Black Tapes is similar in tone. I like Lore too.

Oh I loved Limetown SO MUCH. I follow one of the creators on Twitter and he's all but said it's not coming back and that is NOT ALLOWED. I hope he's full of it...

Today I finally listened to an episode of Drive All Night (the Tori podcast - are the creators on here? They talk about @...and also about some friends' defunct websites, haha.) and it pretty entertaining.

    *adds LifeAfter to list*

YES! When my husband and I finished it on a drive back from Tahoe a few months ago... I was like, "THAT WAS AMAZING! When is the next season?" And he hesitated and quietly said, "As far as they have said, it's not." And then we spent the rest of the drive talking about how lame that is. But apparently, there is talk of doing a tv show?

I saw that Limetown script tease too but since then....crickets.

I also just listened to the first episode of Twice Removed (because Dan Savage) and was surprised at how entertaining it was.

The Ethical Minefield of Missing Richard Simmons

I did feel like... dirty? intrusive? ... sometimes while listening. But it's still so weird he just took off the way he did so I can see WHY someone would want to find out more.

How Soon Is Now?, which is a podcast about consciousness, ecology, and sustainability. Highly informative and interesting.
