He's playing a show at Le Poisson Rouge on Thursday. I believe it's going to be streamed live on the web. Does anyone have the software to capture the stream? I'm not sure that I'll be home to watch the show that night.

I still haven't heard the new album yet, actually, but I'm still loving the debut solo record "Queen of Denmark" an awful lot.

I'm just now listening to the first single on the first page on his website. My Gawd, he really goes there with his lyrics. And I really dig it. I think some of these singer/songwriters tripping up all on themselves should just let it out.. it works for John Grant.

He had a gig in Dublin last night, and Sinéad came on to sing Queen Of Denmark with him:

I love the album, I got it yesterday and am listening on a loop. All the tracks are great but I have a soft spot for Glacier.

John Grant was in a studio in Dublin the last few days with Conor O'Brien of Irish band Villagers:

It's actually a new enough studio, as I know I connected to the engineer on facebook when he was sharing photos of the place and I fell in love with the piano room he has set up there.

...And I'm speechless. First of all, I LOVE John Grant. He's one of my favorite artists of all-time just after two solo albums. But this song..Man. I'm so glad it exists. A friend of mine said " Sounds like something you could've written. Are you jealous?" and I said " Hell, no. I'm just beyond happy that this song exists". And for writing this song, I love John even more. When the video got to Harvey Milk and the candle vigil, I just started bawling, and this song has made me bawl plenty before ever seeing the video. I don't know what else to say but I hope that every young gay person somehow hears this song. It has the power to change lives.

John Grant is opening for Elbow during their North American tour. I'd rather see him as a headliner, but it's nice that it's bringing him to cities that he doesn't seem to play on his own.
