The "I remember when the WORLD was a little girl" bridge, and the drum lick that launches it, still send shivers up my spine after months of it being my most played album.

The song grabs me like a hybrid of (its own ancestor) Winter in July, and iieee, which both have the same kind of effect on me in different ways.

I do not know much about her or her back catalogue, but this album is fan-fucking-tastic. That is all.

I saw Alison last night at Club Nokia in LA and she was great. On this tour its just her and two keyboardists/techs who also play drum pads and guitars. The Club Nokia venue was small and intimate, I was on the floor in GA. The DJ leading up to Alison was playing a lot of 80's hits.

When she came out, she opened with "Horizon Flame" one of my favorite tracks off "the minutes". The sound-design was great. Alison was chatty the whole night. Right before "Filigree", she told us this story about how she was in Amsterdam a year ago, and after a little (plant therapy ) she went off to see an art-house film. And how it reminded her of how there can be little moments of brilliance throughout our life through-out the day. She had a little trouble during the night remembering lines, (she had to re-start When I Was Your Girl twice) but all-together she gave a really solid performance. She didn't play "State Farm" like i'd hoped but I really enjoyed the set-list.

Setlist: (From what I could tell)

    1. Horizon Flame
    2. song I didn't know.
    3. When I was your Girl
    4. An Ordinary Girl?
    5. Remind Yourself
    6. Is this Love?
    7. (Winter killed???)
    8. Filigree
    9. (Philadelphia???)
    10. A Place to Stay
    11. (Only You??)
    12. Apple Kisses
    13. Changeling
    14. (Who will shelter me??)
    15. All Signs of Life
    16. Right as Rain
    17. Love Resurrection

    Encore:
    18. Don't Go.
    19. All Cried Out
    20. Situation.

    Amazing show.

Omg, with Guy Sigsworth?! This just vaulted to one of my most anticipated releases of the year.

I must catch up! I had a listen to Raindancing the other day for the first time in ages. I'd forgotten how good it was! She kept getting RTed into my Twitter timeline for being sweary and hilarious which made me think of her music. I'm following her now. She seems absolutely lovely.

Tempted by her London show in November.
Maybe for once, someone will call me "Sir" without adding, "You're making a scene."

just gave Other my first listen. Great opening track, good closer, but the poem song doesn't quite do it for me

I've only listened to it once. When I listen to it, I envision the villain from Wentworth singing.
