Hairs on my face: a thread of beards

Mainly due to being bored of my face, I've started growing a bit of a beard. Or rather, I've stopped shaving. But I guess there's more to it than that?

I have no idea what I'm doing. Are others in the same boat (race)?

What do Unf's long term devotees of hirsuitism advise newbeards like me to do by way of taming it? I mean, should I still shave my throat? It's growing more there and on my chin, a bit less around my side jaw, and only a little onto the cheeks.

My face is generally round. I have a trimmer with various settings.

I have no idea what I'm doing?

I Googled some famous beards for inspiration but I think I'm doing it wrong.

I'd say, take a buzzer and use a low setting to trim it down until your beard starts looking fuller.

    ^What Mario said.

That's how I do mine, plus I also use a regular razor to shave my neck, and I keep a nice clean line along my jawline. I do it this way because my neckbeard squicks me out. I also shave my upper lip, as I feel that my mustache doesn't grow in fully enough, so it looks smarmy. My beard, to many, looks more like overgrown chops because my chin hair is mysteriously lighter than the rest.

Just experiment, figure out what works for you...and record yourself doing so, for the lulz!

I don't shave my neck at all. I nick it every tie-- no matter how slow and careful I am. I just use the electric buzzer on my neck with no setting. It gives it that perpetual shadow look, and I'm ok with that.

I don't shave my neck too... not that I think it doens't look great but my skin is so sensitive that I always end up with rashes, so I just use the electric buzzer for my neck too

I've stopped using a razor completely. Like Mario, I just use my electric shaver with no guard and shave it down as close as I can. It just gives you a 5 o'clock shadow look all the time.

I have a wedding in a few months so that'll probably be the first time I've been clean shaven in months (maybe a year?).

I don't use razors either, just an electric trimmer. And I never shave my neck. I think the hair on either side of the adams apple is the sexiest part of a beard.

like this hockey player dude. So sexy.

I wish I could grow a beard. I'm 33 and things look down right pube-ish.

Thanks y'all for the tips. I'm getting used to it now and I kinda like it. It's like I've shifted myself into a different cohort of gayness and suddenly I'm almost underweight.

I don't think I'll go full face, my cheek hair being fairly thinly spread doesn't look so good if it grows long. So for now I'm chin and throat to a number 3, and jaw/sides to a number 2, just shaving off the few rouge hairs on my cheeks. Yeah, light stubble by most people's standards but ITS A HOLE KNEW ME GUYZ.

BRB practicing badboyface, you gosh darned motherloving gas frackers.

I actually trim a neck line ( mostly because I have two bald spots under my neck line
But I'm wondering if I'm doing it too high ...
What are your thoughts on that ? (my question is actually for everybody)
