Elle - I can say without any doubt I've never seen a movie like that before.

20th Century Women - The first part of the movie has no movie.. it's just watching Annette. The FILM doesn't really start until almost exactly at the half way point. So I guess a lot of people who find the film boring unfortunately probably never made it to the 2nd half. Then, the laughs and great one-liners never stop Fun movie. A little too long but worth renting.

Peppermint... what an incredible moment she shared with everyone.

    Monsters [2010]
Finally got around to seeing this debut film by Gareth Edwards. It's not a great film; it's very spartan. The love story is almost harder to believe than the giant, land walking alien octopi creatures. However, the two actors are likeable enough that you forgive a lot of the writing flaws. I guess the most impressive thing about this film, and what got Edwards the gig directing Godzilla, is that it was a one-man show. Edwards not only wrote and directed this, but he also did the cinematography and special effects.

Awww, really? I LOVED Monsters. I thought it was so well-done, insightful, and moving.

    Live-action Beauty & the Beast

Luke Evans is delicious as Gaston. Singing pales so much but what can we do? Thank goodness for Audra.

Initially was against the more selfish servants in Be Our Guest (not really hospitality) but it makes sense for them to be desperate AND anyway Mrs Potts did comment that Beast loves Belle when he lets her go. Portal book is a bit ick-ish.

Still, it's a worthwhile watch. Please no whitewashing for Mulan

Prevenge - it's pretty great. Poignant, scary, upsetting, sad, gross, and subversively funny. So much more than a great horror film. But there is one thing bugging me:
