It's brutal and bleak and not for the squeamish. But it will make you feel all the things.
Very much not your typical X-men movie. At all...
I got told that if wasn't a superhero movie, it would be Oscarbait. Which intrigues me!

I saw Split for the second time this weekend and it was even better than the first viewing. I can't believe Shyamalan actually made another good flick.

Yeah I can see why... Oscarbait is a rather negative term, right? But I understand the "if wasn't a superhero movie" bit, which is a shame.
Both Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are on point and it really goes all out and then some. It's brutal!

Logan is incredible. It really wasn't a comic book movie at all. The three leads all deserve nominations, seriously. That little girl is a uncaged animal.

I Am Michael - A gay-themed moving starring Zachary Quinto and James Franco. Excellent film! James plays the intro to Silent All These Years, and the closing credits is Crucify. Music was done by Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters).

I've seen the trailer and is intrigued, but the subject (James Franco's character become an "ex-gay"-advocate, right?) gives me pause.

20th Century Women - The first part of the movie has no movie.. it's just watching Annette. The FILM doesn't really start until almost exactly at the half way point. So I guess a lot of people who find the film boring unfortunately probably never made it to the 2nd half. Then, the laughs and great one-liners never stop Fun movie. A little too long but worth renting.

Peppermint... what an incredible moment she shared with everyone.

Finally got around to seeing this debut film by Gareth Edwards. It's not a great film; it's very spartan. The love story is almost harder to believe than the giant, land walking alien octopi creatures. However, the two actors are likeable enough that you forgive a lot of the writing flaws. I guess the most impressive thing about this film, and what got Edwards the gig directing Godzilla, is that it was a one-man show. Edwards not only wrote and directed this, but he also did the cinematography and special effects.
