She looks like she must be doing Good Intentions Paving Company there. Tha is a very random GIF for someone to make.

This is the first time I've seen most of these pictures. Such a beautiful woman.

Is it me or is there something very Pele-esque about those photos?

    I'm going to agree.
I love that first one, the halo around her hair. So earthy and lovely.

Hooolllly shit the addition of lyrics on the spreads makes it all the more awesome, and her choosing them, guh. The first one is amazing with the presence of those lyrics.

She chose the lyrics herself? Very interesting; I didn't know that when I first saw the pictures. I wonder why she almost exclusively drew from Ys. Other than that it's her best album and all.

First page in fine print: In an exclusive collaboration with BULLETT the unabashed romantic conceptualized and stylized a shoot inspired by the 1971 film, The Hired Hand. To further her tale, she selected lyrics from her otherworldly canon.

I do love it, because it fits the mental pictures I have of her songs. When she's singing Only Skin, she's totally the protagonist for me in these gorgeous nature-y places singing out the words as the events are unfolding. The home/house/cabin on the side of a green grassy foothill filled with alpine flowers, the town itself down below in shades of brown, the slow-moving river she goes to seek out the bitter herb cool blue green and quiet, the sea-shoal that looks out onto what I picture to be a horizon with muted shades of blue gray infinite nothingness. Even if it isn't necessarily directly about herself, she plays the part. I'm sure everyone has their variances, but I love that her song plants these gorgeous images in my mind of what's going on, and I have to think she too has her own personal visuals, that while are not totally accurate to what's in her mind, are being expressed here in the same sort of 'she as protagonist' way. Excellent tandem to all those locations that have inspired her. Kind of want to see the Hired Hand now?

It's probably just because the Ys lyrics work better as written poetry, as the rigid metrical structures mean they don't necessarily need the emphasis of the music.

You know, since Have One on Me is clearly better and all.
