Interesting article by Tracey Thorn (of Everything But The Girl) about PJ's new endevour.

They added "additional sessions" and more tickets are available. No info on how many sessions or anything else. Last chance!

I booked this one, just in case I don't hear a song or Polly singing!

Feels great now working very close to Somerset House!

You're so lucky! They're already sold out again.

Interestingly, there's a couple of items of PJ merch listed on the Somerset House website that includes a £300 print, and lyric sheet reproductions at £50:

These unique lyric sheets were reproduced to illustrate how the process of songwriting entails numerous drafts. Songs Include:

Sight Seeing South of the River / Medicinals / The Children / The Ministry of Social Affaires / The Revolving Wheel / Imagine This / River Anacostia / UNHCR

    Size: Lyric sheets - x8 A4.

Product Material: Lyric sheets - 350gsm Colorplan plain finish duplexed to 700gsm.
We've gotten a lot of interesting sounding titles so far. I'm getting the impression the album will be of a similar lyrical tone to LES, which makes sense I guess; it really seems to have piqued her interest in politico-social commentary.

It really does seem like this album will be very similar thematically to LES and maybe more literal?

Those lyric sheets look amazing! Need them. What is the brochure that comes with it? Haven't seen any info or scans yet?

But, see, I don't see this as a gimmick to sell the album in the way that seed packets or entrances to a meet-n-greet are-- she's NEVER had any gimmicky promo stuff to sell an album. I don't think she cares about that. I think Polly is genuinely interested in this experiment for its own sake.

Yeah, me too. PJ is very private about her personal life, but open about specific parts of her work. Plus, she likes to debunk myths about herself. In this 'work of art' she gets to do both (be open & debunk myths).

    Maybe I'm guilty of assuming
    1. PJ is a private person and so is the way she creates albums. A holy, secret, private process
    2. PJ is not comfortable with people watching her do anything else but play finished music

I do not believe that she 'basically puts on a show' here, like Tracey suggest, she just makes sure she is IN the studio during those hours.
