Interesting. I wonder if this will be in support of the Pele release.

If it's even half as good as last tour I'll be thrilled!

I think it more probable than possible that she will keep improving live. A 2017 tour would be a very charged tour I believe. I don't think Tori will approach it lackadaisically. If she is still as tied to America as she was in 2002, or 2001 for that matter, she will consider it important to reflect America. There are also two types of people. One would believe it was another tour which she had to embark upon, and the other would believe it was not a coincidence that this particular tour happened to be on a cyclical intersection with that particular album. I think she is probably the latter type. It would be nice if she did Purple Rain, as a sort of 2001 Cruel style rendition of her 1998 version.

Recent North American tours have been more scaled back, largely because a lot of the venues on the Sinful Attraction tours were only half - 3/4 full. The Night of Hunters tour, for example, only did 15 US shows, vs the 31 of the Sinful Attraction tour. The Unrepentant Geraldines tour had more dates, but I noticed lots of cities that previously would've had 2 nights only had 1.

I have been a Tori fan since 1994 and I think the 2001 tour was one of the most fascinating parts of her entire career so far. Recently I find myself listening to recordings from this tour more than anything else. She was writing Scarlet at this time, she had just had a longed for baby, she had just had a long rest, and 9/11 and it's aftermath gave this tour an energy that is really quite extraordinary - her vocal and piano work, and her arrangements were at their astonishing peak, in my opinion. I totally agree that a 2017 tour could potentially have a similar 'charged' atmosphere, with stuff that is happening in the US at the moment.

The UG album and tour was certainly a great improvement on the previous few years, but for me both the album and tour were a little patchy, and I'm really hoping they were a kind of 'warm-up' for something even better.

Here's hoping this will be her first tour with a band in almost a decade.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't really care to see her with the band if it only comprises herself, Jon Evans, and Matt Chamberlain. I'd rather see her solo with more varied setlists. I really enjoyed the UG tour.
