That is New Donk City right, not NYC

I reaaaally want to invest in the Stardew Valley port though I feel shitty thinking about all of the progress I won't be carrying over from my PS4 copy. Still... portable SV. Man.

Brandon, I've been playing Picross like mad too. It's not my favorite Picross I've played, but I also haven't played a Picross since.... the Super Famicom one? I don't know, I miss when making a mistake would result in a near Windows '95 Error Screen loud noise and a time deduction. Maybe they decided somewhere down the line that was too aggressive for puzzle gamers?

Yeah, that's my only real major complaint with this game vs. the older GB Mario ones, or even the Pokemon 3DS one; there's no real goals to strive for and no penalty for screwing up. I'm well into the 15x15 puzzles and finally finding a pretty substantial challenge. I'm not using the hint roulette but I am leaving the blue hints turned on. I'm surprisingly enjoying the Mega Picross puzzles much more than the standard ones. I just wish they were all unique puzzles...

It's taking me about 5-8 minutes per puzzle, and the "just one more" every time I finish one has been sapping away pretty much ALL of my free time at night haha.

Stardew Valley and Golf Story are definitely on my radar. I still have to get Sonic Mania, too.

Tiny Barbarian DX is a tough little platformer. The checkpoints have been very generous throughout the whole game though, which has made it pretty manageable for the most part. There's been blatant nods to classic games like Donkey Kong and Castlevania. It's really been just a joy to play through, despite the high difficulty.

I'm totally stuck on the final boss though. Even after watching a perfect playthrough on YouTube, I'm not sure I can pull it off...

I want Stardew Valley for the Swtich, but not a digital copy. The PS4 got a physical copy, so I'm hoping one comes out for the Switch as well. Maybe Super Mario Odyssey will tide me over until such a thing is released.

Oh and Sonic Mania is excellent! IMO, it's easily the best Sonic game ever released. It combines the best parts from the classic games and minimizes the more frustrating ones. I was never a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, but this game definitely hit the spot.

I love it! Also, Mario music has stayed consistently good throughout its history, but this soundtrack is really A+.

Oh gosh Mario is so good!
They really did something really special with this one, the Mario TRex may be my fave unexpected gaming moment this year.

I thought I played Mario a couple of hours Friday night when I finally got to play. Nope. I looked up and SEVEN hours had passed. Also, can we talk about the 60’s jam band music in the kingdom after the sand one? I forget the name but you guys will definitely remember that Music. So cool and weird to hear in a Mario game. Anyway, im LOVING it. BotW was good, but not nearly as fun as this. There are continually parts that make me smile like a total goof. And I LOVE the 2D in a 3D world bits. So amazing.

It's just so freaking clever!!! Everytime you think 'oooh, what's behind this?' or 'wouldn't it be funny if...' BAM you find a new moon.
New Donk City is amazing, especially the climax of the 'storyline' in that area.

I think Mario Odyssey has to be the pinnacle of gaming. I’m astounded at how good it is. I’m a much bigger Zelda fan than Mario fan, so it’s hard for me to say that Mario Odyssey is beating BOTW for pure gaming fun at the moment. I love how nothing is serious but everything is immersive. It’s a testament to Nintendo that they can create these immersive worlds without relying on visuals alone. I feel like I’m playing in a Pixar movie.
