The Handmaid's Tale - Hulu series

    Is anyone else watching this?

I know there's been a lot of chatter on Facebook, but I figured we could have discussions here, too!

I watched the first two episodes. They are equal parts brilliant and terrifying. I got a cold feeling in the pit of my stomach so many times.

Looking forward to this! I love Margaret Atwood and The Handmaid's Tale is one of her best books. Curious how it translates to a TV version (especially since the 1990 film adaptation was pretty bad).

Oh. Good luck with episode 3! Honestly I started having a panic attack, it pissed me off so much and made me feel so sick. The show is brilliantly done, though, and Elizabeth Moss and Alexis Bledel are perfect.

Life. Some of it's valuable, some of it's junk, but all of it is odd.

I watched it last night. I didn't sleep so well. One of the best hours of television I've ever watched, though. It was riveting and really well done. But jesus lord, horrifying.

I honestly didn't expect much from Alexis Bledel in this, but she's been phenomenal.

This here gurl has watched the entire series of Gilmore Girls about 3 times. I did not recognize Rory. She changed the tone of her voice. Though she did look familiar. It wasn't till closing credits that I saw her name and had to rewind (can you do that streaming?).

Go Rory. Say what you will about Amy Sherman-Palladino, but that woman has an eye for talent.

The moment that really struck me too, in retrospect, was Ofglen and Moira jogging and that song came on. I couldn't place it right away. But then I realized it was Fuck the Pain Away by Peaches, which is thematically brilliant, and a relic of a time (in the world they created) when women could be so overtly bawdy and sexual. It was absolutely chilling. Then the march scene...*shudders*

That creepy version of Heart Of Glass was put to use so well.

Really glad I gave this a try. This has been such a good year for female roles in mini-series.
