At first I wasn't really into her, I thought she just sounded like any other young indie pop female singer songwriter, but I'll admit the more I give her ep a chance the catchier it becomes.

Amazing new song Fallingwater
Love this
Maggie sang “I Need My Girl” with The National
Fallingwater video just released, featuring Maggie's endearingly un-self conscious dance moves. It's such a great song. She deserves to be huge.
Tori Amos shout out from Maggie when she played in Baltimore the other night!

if you haven't heard it, highly recommend listening to the Song Exploder podcast episode about Alaska. since it was her first big song, it's a nice introduction to her whole story.

also if you don't know Song Exploder, it's one of my favorite podcasts..i'm sure a lot of people here would love it.each episode is about a different song and tells the whole story of its creation with interviews with the artist, producers, etc. a lot of times they'll play demos and break down the different instrumental tracks. it's really cool.
my favorite episodes have been Carly Rae Jepsen (When I Needed You), St. Vincent (New York), and Perfume Genius (Slip Away) but they've had TONS of amazing guests.
Song Exploder is so so good. The recent one on Liz Phair's "Divorce Song" was fantastic.
And cannot WAIT for Maggie's full length. "Fallingwater" does shit to me.
New song Give a Little; sounds like album coming later this year
Maggie doing On&Off/Dog Years/Alaska for NPR
New Maggie song Light On
Maggie on SNL
Love that Maggie posted this..Fallingwater really did feel transcendent.
Im about 50/50 on liking her songs, but I can't deny that she KILLED Falling Water on SNL. She sounded so good.
