    Stephen King's "IT" (2017 Film Adaptation)

    I've been pretty ridiculously excited about this from the first moment it was announced that it was in the works. As a massive fan of the book, I've always hoped that one day this story would get the film adaptation it so greatly deserves because, let's face it, aside from Tim Curry's performance the 1990 TV movie is ridiculous.

    This is the first of a two-part adaptation. This first installment focuses on the experiences of the Losers' Club as children.

    Release date: September 8th

    Cast:

    Bill Skarsgård as It/Pennywise The Dancing Clown/Bob Gray
    Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough
    Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom
    Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh
    Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier
    Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris
    Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon
    Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak
    Nicholas Hamilton as Henry Bowers
    Jackson Robert Scott as George Denbrough

    I have been following this adaptation since it was in the hands of another director and someone else was playing Pennywise. Needless to say, I'm beyond excited!

    ^ Same! Been on the It hypetrain for years, it had been in development hell for so long I thought it was never going to come out. Has been my favorite book since forever.
    Looking at the trailer, it seems like they heavily revisited the source material.
    Like in the book, 29 Neibolt Street features heavily in it.
    What I remember from the book;
    - Eddie has an encounter with a bum
    - Eddie returns and has an encounter with It
    - Richie and Bill enter the house and fight Werewolf / Pennywise
    - The kids enter the house and have a face-off against It

    At least the last three of these scenes were filmed for it, judging from the trailer, as you see;
    - Eddie being chased by It as the leper
    - Bill and Richie together in the stairwell.
    - All kids are seen together in the house
    - With Pennywise having a werewolf claw? I know the director said the traditional mummy and werewolf would be replaced, but also that he didn't want to give away any spoilers.

    Hopefully the movie depicts interactions between all kids, as the 90s TV Series inserted Bill into almost every interesting scene (like the cinema scene and the sink scene).

    That Eddie centered vid is now floating around on Facebook too....without the subs.

    It shows Ben being chased in the library, hopefully by a vampire with a mouth full of razorblades...

    IT is one of my favourite books of all time - I was eight years old when I first read it and have read it every couple of years since. It's not really the horror that I love the most (although it's amazing in its creativity and scope) - I love the representation of childhood and friendship, and reading the book every time is like going back and visiting old friends and locations. I have to say I'm so impressed by everything I've seen so far - when I saw the first Pennywise and Neibolt Street pictures I thought they looked a little too bog-standard modern horror, but seeing things in motion in the trailer has sold me on it. They seem to have got the spirit of the book right and I feel very confident that they have understood it enough to create something brilliant (especially in comparison to The Dark Tower which looks like garbage).

    If any of you have plans to see "Annabelle: Creation" next weekend, there will be a 4-minute exclusive preview of "IT" before the film starts.

    Very excited as well. This comes out Sept 8th the same day as Tori's Native Invader album. A couple of years ago I ran the Haunted Hustle (Halloween costumes encouraged) as Pennywise. At the time it was Tim Curry's Pennywise, I may just have to run another half marathon as this Pennywise! So Sept 8th might as well be an official holiday for me!
