I never realized just how gigantic Skarsgård is.

I know Joey saw it and I'm ready for him to get in here and spill how he enjoyed it.

Okay, so I just finished the book again which was probably a mistake right before seeing this because I found myself nitpicking details. That being said, the tone was spot-on: grim yet hopeful, and surprisingly funny and heartfelt like the novel. I definitely want to see it again. The losers were perfectly cast and Skarsgård's Pennywise was delicious.

How scary was it? Were there a lot of JUMP cues? I refuse to put myself through that. When they turn the volume up to make everyone jump. I'm in my 30s, now. Have to look out for my cardiovascular system lol

Obviously it's going to be scarier than the original version.

I loved it! They really did capture the feel and essence of the story and setting. The girl playing beverly is amazing, as is Skarsgård of course.
Only complaint: I could've done with fewer germs and 'yo mamma' jokes, they were overplayed and not needed that much to create the character of those 2 kids... @Volta, yeah there are a few jump scares, but not those cheap ones.

Few bits and bops under spoilers

I'm so excited!!! I have been following this for years and just finished the book for the first time about a month ago. I am seeing it this afternoon and I really hope it meets my expectations.

My favorite scene in the entire film and one of the best "jump scares" I've ever seen:
