The bits I (involuntarily) caught of "Wings" sounded like 2011 Kate Bush collaborating with early 1990s William Orbit... at least through my computer speakers.

Oh boy, glad people can finally hear "Wings" and hopefully see what I'm talking about with the vocals. I'll say that it's grown on me since my first listen, and I don't actively dislike it by any means. In fact, there are melodic elements I love. It fits fine alongside everything else but I'd say it's not indicative of the rest of the album. Production-wise, it sounds fuller than how it may have sounded on AATS or UG.

And yes, @Joey! You heard the "I'll Remember" synth too.

It's not awful but I'm a bit surprised. There's some parts I really like and some things I don't know what to make of

I have listened like 5 times. lol. I like it better than Wild Way at least (near the bottom of UG for me).

Somehow, it seems, I have only been acquainted with the remix William Orbit made for this song which is why I drew the connection. Had no idea he didn't produce the album version. I don't intend to take another listen before the album is out, but my initial impression of "Wings" reminded me of this.

Totally agree. The more produced songs on NI are just more impressive on first listen than the UG ones so far.

The vocals are sure really high and it's new but it's not baby voice. I get major Venus vibes from it

I'd say her vocals here are "America"-level and not quite up there in "Oysters" territory.

I am really digging this. The funky synths are great. The vocals do not bother me.

I love the deep purring synth / bass stuff going on.

It kinda reminds me of Mylene Farmer. "Apelle Mon Numero" or something? lol

This is a good pop song. She sure knows how to write melodies.

Wings... wow, love it. Higher voice but not baby, IMO. I love that on her 15th album she is still doing new things and surprising us.

I had to go to a computer to get it to work.

I kinda like it but I only listened once and I dont wanna listen again until I have the whole album.

I really like the song but I can't help but think how completely different it could feel/sound in a really low register.

I like it more with repeated listens. The melody is lovely.
