"Vintage electronica" is what they're calling the Morse code signals?

I am not a hater, I just hate that it breaks up the PERFECT Breakaway/Wildwood/Bang/Climb sequence is all, which is one of the most perfect sequences ever. I am not sure where Wings and Chocolate should live on this album, which is my only issue with this record. That being said, the song itself is kind of interesting and growing on me.

I don't have to like swinging from extremes
the lows so low the highs so high
from throwing knives to dessert stirring
our tight rope act just balancing

then I hear your pain screaming at me
    hear your pain screaming
Is Mark suffering from a Borderline personality disorder or something?? Reading these lyrics, and That Guy, Welcome to England and Starling, he comes out as a quite difficult person to deal with!

So confused. I can't even say whether I like it or dislike it.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "make happy" mean? I have never heard that expression before in America.

She is saying that chocolate makes her happy... chocolate is happy. They used to make chocolate on the stove together. Which means they "made happy".

But maybe it is a sexual Tori metaphor - like sugar and honey. Chocolate would make it a trilogy.

I'll be damned if this song isn't pretty, though, guys.

The voicings in the synths are lovely, especially in the second verse, with the hits. It should be a song I loathe, but I can't help it. I love it!

Make happy means what it looks like it means:

Dictionary definition and meaning for word make happy. (verb) celebrate noisily, often indulging in drinking; engage in uproarious festivities.

She almost had me up until the Satiny luscious chocolate part. I just can't.

And it's so disappointing, too. If you read the lyrics and listen to the song, for me anyway, it could be one of my favorites on the entire record. But then that fucking 'satiny luscious chocolate' happens. Then I cringe.

I also really love how her vocals are mixed here. Very intimate.

I don't think we've talked enough about how fucking amazing the last minute of this song is. Bang, Chocolate Song and Broken Arrow all have spectacular last-minute crescendos.
