Thread: Setlist and Reviews for Upper Darby, PA 4/11/2017

I got home and went right to bed. I was TIRED, y'all. All in all, I think I preferred the DC show but I liked Philly for different reasons... it was a little more emotional for me. This was only my third Tori show so I'd never heard SATY live before and damned if it didn't get me. PGY got me, too... My name is Greg, so it's weird hearing Tori sing it in person.

There was no glacier for RK and we found out during the intro to Sister Janet that it didn't unfurl properly, so a stagehand ran out behind Tori and fixed it. That Suede mash-up was super weird and I don't know that I understand the Why of it but I was vibing and it's Suede, so I'll give it a pass.

When she said we were "getting dark" I was very interested and she started playing what I figured was Bells or Black-Dove and was even more interested and then I realize it's Ophelia (which I got in DC '14) and rolled my eyes, checked out, and started wondering what she'd pair it up with. I figured either Flavor or Climb and was very pleased to get Climb. The light show during RS was pretty cool—very clubby. I have to amend my statement from DC about the backing track: rather than being the album version, it's just percussion and a bassline. Still SO MUCH FUN.

I love Selkie, so I'm bummed she left it off. When we were waiting outside the guy organizing the queues said she should end around 10:30 and I think she show actually ended around 10:40-ish—I think it was a time issue. Shout out to the staff at the Tower, by the way—merch was very well-organized and everyone was super chill.

I have one real complaint and it's about the stage rush. I know it's a thing that happens, but last night was insane. I guess everyone was keeping better track than I was and the second she finished PGY people were leaping over seats and slamming by me (I was in an aisle pit seat) and it was honestly a little scary.

She does seem a little ready for a break to me, which is understandable for the third show in a row. Hope she's rested and firing on all cylinders for NYC!

Stayed after in the rain with my hubby & my friend
My friend got to hug her and take a picture

    The show was interesting
    Still processing it all

Glad I went. Was it an amazing performance comparative to others
Probably not. Did I fully enjoy & appreciate her mastery & choices, yes

    New synths & programmer awesome
Sound choices are better I believe

Didn't mind the backing track to PT

New Age! First time live for me & it's a favorite!

was just fully content. Not blown away by anything in particular

Hoping she brings it in NYC

I really like this Raspberry Swirl. The beat really works, and it is better, imo, than '07, '09 and principally, the atrocious '14 version (I liked the solo version tho).
I will be safe in my frame.

Great show! She was a bit rushed, but still good.

This was my 34th (I think) show, and while it wasn’t my top, it’s in my top five, possibly top three.

It happened to me again today! I met her in 2007, but in 2007, I looked like a teenage boy, and I wanted to get a decent picture today! I looked incredible today, too!
