    1. What was your favorite live event (concert, sporting event, play, festival, convention, etc.) you attended in 2017? - Probably THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE. It was cold. But it was fun and I dunno if I'll have it in me to go next year. It's a big event before The Kentucky Derby.

    2. Favorite musical artist of 2017? Tori Tori Tori

    3. What song did you hit “repeat” on the most in 2017? BANG

    4. Favorite book and/or comic you read in 2017? Call Me By Your Name, although it wasn't a new book this year, obviously. Umm.. if the requirement is a 2017 release I'd say Origin by Dan Brown.

    5. Favorite TV show you binge watched in 2017? When We Rise - It was early in the year but I DVR'd it. But I think you can count it as a binge because it was on every day that week. It was a historic event for network television even if I thought it was a bit slow and didn't cover as much I'd have liked. But just witnessing ABC put it out was pretty incredible.

    6. Favorite TV show you watched week to week in 2017? Game of Thrones. Every time. Every Year, baby.

    7. Favorite animated series of 2017? Because I have to answer - Doc. Mcstuffins. It's my little nieces fav cartoon and she's 2 years old and we all often watch it with her

    8. Favorite animated film of 2017? The Star

    9. Favorite documentary of 2017? The Keepers - Netflix. And Gaga's Netflix documentary AND also on Netflix Diana in her own words.

    10. Favorite comedy film of 2017? The Disaster Artist

    11. Favorite action and/or sci-fi film of 2017? IT! - omg, of any action/horror/sci-fi/fantasy this was the year of IT - It's also my most anticipated film of either next year or whenever it comes out.

    12. Favorite drama and/or romance film of 2017? LOGAN. The movie gave me so many feels. As such a fan of X-Men.. if you can compare the movies to the most delicious sweets ever.. this was the cherry on top of the sundae which is the entire franchise. I also want to include CALL ME BY YOUR NAME in the romance category because it was more romance than drama or anything else. And I loved it. I liked it much more than Moonlight from last year. And I hope it can be as successful at the Oscars as Moonlight. So far

    13. Favorite video game of 2017? It was this Wimbledon Tennis Game.

    14. Favorite YouTube channel in 2017? Gentle Whispering ASMR by Masha/Maria and PJandThomas - my fav new youtube couple

i skipped a few because i didn't see many movies at all this year.

    1. What was your favorite live event (concert, sporting event, play, festival, convention, etc.) you attended in 2017?

I think probably seeing Janet Jackson for the first time ever in concert - one of my good friends and I (who live on opposite coasts, me in Boston and her in LA) have a yearly tradition where we get together to see a concert. So I flew out to LA to see her at the Hollywood Bowl over Columbus Day Weekend and it was incredible.

another great one was going to Wilco's Solid Sound Festival for the first time. the first night they had an online vote where fans could vote which album of theirs to play in full. Being There won which was awesome...but then they came out in the encore and without saying anything, did the entirety of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which was apparently the runner-up. Solid Sound is such a cool festival too, held at MASS MoCA which is this great contemporary art museum out in Western MA, so it's surrounded by mountains and gorgeous scenery.

other highlights were seeing PJ Harvey solo for the first time, Ryan Adams and Jenny Lewis, St. Vincent, Arcade Fire (despite a disappointing album, the show was still great), and Gaga at Fenway Park.

    2. Favorite musical artist of 2017?
it would be a tie between SZA and Lorde. I was obsessed with both of their albums this year. honorable mention to Perfume Genius, St. Vincent and Beth Ditto and of course Tori who is still always a comfort to me in rough times like the year that was 2017.

    3. What song did you hit “repeat” on the most in 2017?
according to last.fm it was St. Vincent's New York

    5. Favorite TV show you binge watched in 2017?
Big Little Lies (though i actually did watch this one week to week when it aired, but also enjoyed binge rewatching it recently)

    6. Favorite TV show you watched week to week in 2017?
    RuPaul's Drag Race

    14. Favorite YouTube channel in 2017?
    T.Kyle

    15. What’s your favorite/most used app on your smartphone in 2017?
Probably a tie between YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram

    16. Who is the one entertainer that died in 2017 you’d bring back? (There can be only one!)
    Tom Petty

    17. What was your 2017 like as depicted in emojis or a single .gif?

    1. What was your favorite live event (concert, sporting event, play, festival, convention, etc.) you attended in 2017?
As much as I loved Tori, Mitski, Aimee Mann, Julien Baker and Run the Jewels, I think this one has to go to Perfume Genius, who put on literally the best live show I have ever seen. Something about the way he commands a room and the queer power of the San Francisco crowd, and serpentwithfeet as the opener, just blew the roof off the place.

    2. Favorite musical artist of 2017?
In terms of individual album, it's Björk. In terms of just embarrassment of riches prodigious work product, it's Charli XCX.

    3. What song did you hit “repeat” on the most in 2017?
Either "Lust for Life" by Lana Del Rey, "Prom" by SZA or "You Missed My Heart" by Phoebe Bridgers.

    4. Favorite book and/or comic you read in 2017?

    Legion, what a great mindfuck.

Either Brooklyn 9-9 (the only cop show I'll ever watch) or Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

    7. Favorite animated series of 2017?
    Didn't watch any.

    8. Favorite animated film of 2017?
Coco, I guess? I don't really watch animated films these days.

    9. Favorite documentary of 2017?
    Didn't watch any.

    10. Favorite comedy film of 2017?
I'm sad to see that Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping came out mid-2016. I saw it in theaters, I should remember that. And yet. EITHER WAY THAT SHIT IS THE JAM AND I'VE WATCHED IT TEN TIMES.

    11. Favorite action and/or sci-fi film of 2017?
Obviously The F8 of the Furious.

    12. Favorite drama and/or romance film of 2017?

I found out you can download Sporcle on your phone, I hope that counts.

    14. Favorite YouTube channel in 2017?

I really like this thread. Great idea Crispy. It's been really interesting seeing what people have gotten into this year.

    1. What was your favorite live event (concert, sporting event, play, festival, convention, etc.) you attended in 2017?
Aeschylus's The Suppliant Women at the Young Vic was pretty special. A rallying cry from the past, voiced by a group of young women.
    2. Favorite musical artist of 2017?
The mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato has moved me a lot this year. Her album In War & Peace has calmed me down through some stressful patches, and I observed her masterclass at the Royal Opera House studio a few weeks ago, after seeing her in Semiramide on the main stage. She is not only a wonderful musician but an intelligent actor, and on top of all that an inspiring teacher and generally a brilliant human. Her sense of dedication and love of music is infectious.
    3. What song did you hit “repeat” on the most in 2017?
It would either be Futile Devices by Sufjan - it's such a fragile song, I worry that it might break if I listen to it too much, but I can't stop - or Hole In The Head by Sugababes, which is an under-rated banger. I also have a weird fascination with Possente, possente Fthà from Verdi's Aida. It's just the section that the High Priestess sings during the consecration scene, but it's other-worldly and haunting and according to my Spotify data I can't get enough. Marz by John Grant, Hey Eugene! by Pink Martini, City Lights by Blanche, 7 Seconds by Youssou N'Dour, Anais Mitchell's cover of Willie of Winsbury and WTF by Missy Elliot (it's great to have her back) have also got a lot of repeated spins this year.
    4. Favorite book and/or comic you read in 2017?
Well Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman pretty much changed my life; at least it made me re-evaluate the things that I want. I finally got around to reading One Hundred Years of Solitude and it broke apart my notions of what a novel can do. It'll be a life-time favourite I'm sure. I've read quite a bit of Graham Greene this year and loved his dark morality. I read The Blue Flower by Penelope Fitzgerald and found it beguiling but indecipherable, it was one of those novels I'm going to have to read at least twice more before I get anywhere close to understanding it, which I really love. Muriel Spark's A Far Cry From Kensington was another highlight of the year, I'm really enjoying working my way through her work, there is no-one else like her (and yes, I do love my 20th century Catholics).
    5. Favorite TV show you binge watched in 2017?
I don't think I've binged watched any TV shows this year, I rarely get enough time off in a big enough clump for me to sit and watch a whole series in one go.
    6. Favorite TV show you watched week to week in 2017?
I've been working gradually through my box-set of Six Feet Under, and I'm just now onto the second season. I love how leisurely it is. As much as streaming has gone some way to creating a boom in TV writing, I don't think you'd now be able to get away with a series that takes so long to deal out its cards. In the second series you can still feel it finding its feet. The writing is at times extraordinary; the episode in which David comes out to his mother was devastating, I can't believe there was such a nuanced and complex portrayal of a gay man on television in 2001 and no-one told me about it. How rude.
    7. Favorite animated series of 2017?
I think the only one I've watched is Ricky & Morty, and although it has developed a particularly nasty fan base, I think it's a wonderful show.
    8. Favorite animated film of 2017?
It didn't come out this year but a few months ago I watched Sita Sings The Blues, a really brilliantly witty animation about the myths of the Ramayana, relating to the dissolution of the creator's marriage. You can view it for free online, just give it a Google search. It's enlightening and uplifting, full of hope.
    9. Favorite documentary of 2017?
It would have to be Blue Planet 2. The BBC's nature arm outdoes itself again. There were sections that made me openly weep just because of how incredible they were, and there were bits that made me weep at the state that humanity has left the oceans in.
    10. Favorite comedy film of 2017?
There's a lot debate as to whether Get Out is a comedy or a horror film, but I found it darkly funny, so...
    11. Favorite action and/or sci-fi film of 2017?
Well I saw Star Wars on Boxing Day and although I don't have particularly strong feelings towards the franchise I enjoyed the film a lot, and I don't think I've seen any other sci-fi films this year.
    12. Favorite drama and/or romance film of 2017?
Well I loved Call Me By Your Name so much I saw it twice in the cinema, but since I put the novel as my favourite book I'll have to put another major LGBT film that came out this year - God's Own Country, a beautiful story about redemption and rejuvenation on an ailing Yorkshire farm. It was so refreshing to see a film where homosexuality was played out as a metaphor for something else (new life, new hope), rather than as a source of repression and pain. The performances are incredible across the board, and it's shot beautifully.
    13. Favorite video game of 2017?
I don't have a games console but when I'm bored at work I play a Flash game called Dino Run where you play a dinosaur running away from a meteor cloud. So, that, I suppose.
    14. Favorite YouTube channel in 2017?
Lindsay Ellis's film channel. She is insightful and reflective and has a wealth of film theory knowledge that she applies clearly in her detailed videos. Her current series on Michael Bay's Transformers series is brilliant.
    15. What’s your favorite/most used app on your smartphone in 2017?
Oh that would definitely be my Bible App - it sends me a quote from the Old Testament every morning to reflect on as I battle my sinful urges on this mortal plane.

    16. Who is the one entertainer that died in 2017 you’d bring back? (There can be only one!)
None. I've messed with that resurrection stuff before and it never ends well.
    17. What was your 2017 like as depicted in emojis or a single .gif?

Love and Freindship (maybe not really a comedy...)
    I think it's absolutely a comedy. It's hilarious.

Six Feet Under is my favorite show of all time. I am so glad you're getting to watch it. It changed my whole brain as a very young writer.

I told someone I work with that I'd been wanting to watch it and by pure coincidence he'd seen it on display at his local charity shop. He bought it for me; the whole series for only £5. It was very lucky. I've slowed down on watching it since before Christmas but I hope to keep going with S2 really soon.

S2 is my favorite, I think.
