I've read many sentiments today like this:

And a few times I've gone onto the thread and there is more Bro shit in it. Look, if one thinks he's the best and you're super into having a Jewish president, good for you. But the rhetoric from the ride or die people is awful. His fans are the MAGA people of the left. Not necessarily people who vote for him, but his FANS. I see the difference. Unlike them who can only see in shades of Bern.

Also, I'm reading a lot more tax stuff. People might have gotten more back in their paychecks because they didn't update their W4s and now they owe a ton. So it was an illusion of a tax cut. And most people don't have their taxes done before March starts. It's only going to get worse. And it won't be just blue states.

Unhappy about Sanders. There are already too many cooks in the kitchen. I am totally blaming the Democratic Party if Trump wins in 2020.

There will likely be many more cooks to come...my understanding is that quite a few more Democrats are expected to run.

It makes sense I suppose - people consider Trump easy to beat, so they all want their shot. Just like the Repubs assumed HRC would win the nomination and be easy to beat in 2016.

I ran smack into this today and I was not prepared.

This is what I said: I cannot stand the Bernie Bros. They piss me off so much that I can't get behind this guy either. Given what happened in 2016, he better just STFU about whoever wins the Dem Primary. If I see any shenanigans like last time, I'm calling Vermont's version of Adult Protective Services on his ass. Why? His actions are endangering the lives of others.*

*Can we try this with Trump?

You'd have thought I shat on a crucifix or something. I was told Bernie is the ONLY ONE who can beat Trump because he's scandal free, hasn't been given a nickname by Trump. People are scared of Bernie because they are afraid of true change. I got a reply that simply said, "So you back Trump then?" Not from a stranger either! Are you fucking kidding me? If I don't back Sanders, I must be backing Trump. I was so close to losing my shit by then.

    This is MAGA behavior.

It’s the horseshoe theory. The extremists on the MAGA train and the extremists on the Bernie train bend toward each other. The bots are already pushing the same narrative with Bernie that they did in 2016 — he’s the only one who can win, he’s the only one with a vision, he’s the only one pure enough to deserve it. Never mind that he still hasn’t released his tax returns either.

Totally forgot about that theory. For the record, what I posted was on my own Facebook page. I didn't go somewhere else to cause trouble.

He didn't even register to vote until he was past 40. There are plenty of scandals. The Dem primaries did not air all the dirt, but it doesn't mean it's not there. We generally don't go scorched earth/push poll/Would you be less likely to vote for McCain if you knew he had a black daughter? on each other.

hasn't been given a nickname by Trump.
There was a story yesterday where I guess he's walking around with a pad and paper testing out nicknames for all the candidates. I mean, he can just stick with "socialist". And not getting a nickname doesn't mean anything. It means President Id and ADD hasn't thought of it yet. Bernie hasn't been a threat.

People are scared of Bernie because they are afraid of true change.
HAHAHAHHAA. no. Please point to the massive ________-Sanders legislation that passed the house and/or senate. Or anything he truly accomplished.

People want change. His complete lack of initiative on gun issues could really be THE deal-breaker for him.

I got a reply that simply said, "So you back Trump then?" Not from a stranger either! Are you fucking kidding me? If I don't back Sanders, I must be backing Trump. I was so close to losing my shit by then. This is MAGA behavior.
    Yup. It totally is.

And he's still not a Democrat and I still think that matters. He shouldn't be allowed in the race if he won't commit to the party and ABSOLUTELY not allowed anywhere near it if he's going to pull the sulk at the convention shit he did last time.

Hillary worked her ass off to get Obama elected in 2008 despite her primary loss. Commitment to the cause. Bernie is committed to Bernie.

eta: The Monday episode of Pod Save America talks about all this a lot. And Dave Weigel is the guest and makes a good point that part of Bernie's popularity was that Hillary was his foil. Without Hillary, would he have appealed to the sexist dudebros quite so much?

And Lovett went on a rant about how just because you might be more practical in how to implement plans like Medicare for all doesn't mean you're a traitor to the cause.

    eta2:

Glad he workshopped that Dorothy Parker-esque barb.
