    Angry The Hurricane Season Thread

The first named storm, Alex, is upon us. Not that it's ever a good year for a hurricane, but what a bad, bad year for one. This is going to be a long ass season.

Good luck to my fellow Florida unf members! Gas is sold out everywhere in a 30-mile radius, though I do have plenty of water and non-perishable food. I'm a bit nervous because I'm only like 8 - 10 miles inland from the coast. Last I heard, Hurricane Matthew had 120 mph winds and could potentially strengthen.

8-10 miles from the eastern coast? You might be under a mandatory evacuation. I was just watching TWC when the governor came on live and listed all the counties that were in voluntary and required evacuation. I think the first must evact starts at 3pm tomorrow.

    Prayers to you all.

I'm more inland, but still pretty nervous. Got gas, food, water, batteries, candles, flashlights, ice, filled the generator with oil and gas, did laundry, got propane for the grill and charged all the external phone batteries. But I still feel like I'm missing something!

I'm nervous here too. I decided to go to a relative's house further inland but with a storm this powerful it's still going to be bad. The news earlier showed the heaviest wind extending halfway across the state which is essentially all of central Florida. Everyone stay safe! I hope Charles isn't too close to the coast. Mario is down south so he may not feel it as bad as central Florida. They'll probably still get some strong wind and rain though.

    Here's my hometown -

The whole family is battened down. This sure reminds me of Andrew, which was really destructive. I've got some friends coming in from Charleston to crash for the storm.

I'm wishing you all well! If anyone needs to escape to Atlanta - PM me!
