Get on that STAT. It's among the best things she's done.

Abbey Road: "don't stop the ocean, I need to feel a tidal wave" -- I'll never understand how this wasn't released. It should be as well known as Cooling and Never Seen Blue.

There's a level of emotional immediacy to this song that she seems to reserve for her very best material. She just sounds so utterly drained and spent, like she's singing from a broken heart. There's only a handful of songs she's done that carry that degree of intimacy - Damage, Hey Jupiter, Sister Janet and her cover of "A Case of You" are the only ones that spring to mind right now.

I also maintain that this and "To The Fair Motormaids of Japan" were at one point the same song, or at least came from the same place, even if "Motormaids" is nowhere near as powerful.

I used to consider Abbey Road my favorite Tori song, I listened to it a lot during a rough time I was having. Most nostalgic, bittersweet piano I ever heard. Motor Maids is amazing too though, and I really can't pick favorites from that special class of songs that you talk about -- for me it's the Pele era of Never Seen Blue, Beulah Land, Motor Maids, Cooling, Abbey Road and the other song she did from the same session, Oomla Boomleigh (which is a nice, light comedown after the gut punch of Abbey Road.) Could you imagine an EP of those in 1997??!
