I was supposed to get a ticket for Dublin, but was too poor when the tickets went on sale.

However, a friend of mine knows one of the staff members in the Theatre and snagged herself a front row ticket. Bitch!

    Hopefully.

I'm really shit-poor at the moment and will be for the rest of the summer, as I've no regular work now until September again. So, maybe I'll be lucky closer to the show date.

Yes. Managed to see her on the Ys tour when she came to Ireland. Went by myself, but turned out that loads of my old uni friends had gotten into her because of Ys, and the venue was wonderful.

I'm hoping to make one of the Portland shows. But money is tight at the moment.

I'd like to see her in birmingham as the venue is pretty amazing, but as I saw her twice already and am going to amsterdam for tori I think I'll have to pass. I really wanted to hear go long but it doesn't seem to come out that often ...

Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold to open the West Coast dates

As Joanna Newsom tours the West Coast over the next couple months, she’ll be accompanied by a pretty stellar opening act. None other than Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold will be joining her on eight dates that run from the end of July through the first week of August.

Pecknold already played a handful of North American dates with Newsom at the beginning of the year, and recently released a video cover of “On a Good Day,” (below) a track from her latest effort, Have One on Me.

Even though he seems to be taking a break from Fleet Foxes endeavors, Pecknold & Co. have been posting frequent Facebook status updates about new songs and a potential new album. The band discussed the use of a “Moog Voyager” and “distorted guitar squall,” but then posted an update on June 18 stating: “Hmm. Everything I’ve said in interviews about this record is a lie.” OK. Well. Who knows what these guys have in store, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.

    Dates:

    July
29 – San Diego, Calif. @ San Diego Women’s Club
30 – Santa Barbara, Calif. @ Lobero Theatre
31 – Los Angeles, Calif. @ Orpheum Theatre

    August
    2 – Oakland, Calif. @ Fox Theatre
    4 – Seattle, Wash. @ Moore Theatre
    5 – Vancouver, Canada @ Vogue Theatre
    6, 7 – Portland, Ore. @ Aladdin Theatre

Oh Christ I totally could have gone to the L.A. Show if I had known! Now there are all of 15 seats left (according to ticketmaster) and I'm sorry Joanna, I'm not driving 80 miles so I can sit in the furthest possible corner of the theatre.

Do any of you know how long her sets have been? Or more specifically, what time the shows have been ending? Has it been consistent?

Finally got myself a ticket for the Seattle show. Shitty seats but YAY.

At my core, I think we're gonna be OK.
