    Apparently Kate just woke up for a minute to say, "Yeah cheers, thanks a lot."

    Has anyone bought a copy of the Uncut Kate Bush guide? I was in a newsagents looking for Christmas wrapping last week and saw it on the shelf and got it as little present to myself. I haven't read it cover to cover yet but although it looks like it doesn't tell us anything new, it's got some good interviews with famous admirers.

    You guys know how that singer Tori Anus is just a ripoff of Kate, right? Look at how the sound of their albums match up and tell me it's not true:

    Kick Inside = Little Earthquakes
    Lionheart = EP's and b-sides
    Never For Ever = Under the Punk
    The Dreaming = Bouys for Pele
    Hounds of Love = Choirgirl Hotel
    Sensual World = Venus & Bach
    "Rocket Man" single = Strange Little covers
    Red Shoes = The Beekeeper
    Fruitopia commercials = ADP & AATS
    Aerial = Scarlet's Wok
    Director's Cunt = old Dust
    50 Words for Snow = Midwinter Graves
    Before the Dawn = The Lite Princess
    That Gaelic song = Unrepentant Geraldines

    The proof is undeniable, it's basically the exact same career trajectory

    I'm mostly kidding, but it actually helps to think of ADP & AATS as Frutopia: The Album

    ^ Lol, I tried Fruitopia a couple times and it was nasty!! It sounded good, and the packaging looked nice, but it tasted like rotten strawberries.

    Headline circa 2007 or 2009: "Tori Amos' latest album pulled from shelves following customer complaints."

    Seriously though... I'd say Beekeeper/Red Shoes have a very strong parallel too. Both were made during times of personal tragedy, despite the brighter/poppier sound of the music. Reviews of both albums often mention Tori and Kate trying to sugarcoat their pain, or take "happy pills" so to speak. The personal torment hides in most songs on those albums, even when the concept/theme is officially something else -- Gnostic gospels for Tori, Hans Christian Anderson for Kate. Also I'm pretty sure they were both unsatisfied with these albums and made that clear at some point.
