The organization I work for, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (we work on First Amendment issues that impact independent booksellers and their customers) is raffling off a trip to the FIU/Books & Books Writers Conference in Grand Cayman. I'm publicizing this on other forums, but I'm only telling you guys this: we haven't had particularly stellar ticket sales, so you have a pretty good chance of winning!

Learn more about the conference and the raffle here:

Unfortunately, the online store through which we are selling the tickets malfunctioned at the perfect time - right in the middle of our Banned Books Week sale and this raffle thing. To purchase tickets, go to and read the message posted at the top of the page. Basically, it tells you how to contact me so I can process your order.

I know this seems spammy, but it really is a good opportunity, and I wanted to let forumzers know about it, especially with the ridiculous odds. And, personally, I don't particularly care how well the tickets sell as much as I care about having done my job, which is to publicize the raffle as widely as possible. But I don't want to run afoul of any rules, so please, mods, delete this post if you think it violates the terms.
