LOL! There were so many great covers before MG was released. However, none of us could have possibly imagined that our tackiest fantasy covers were still lightyears better than the reality! LOL

lol, I made that one. Thought of posting it, but I didn't because of the title. Maybe I can replace it and post it again. =P

You know, it reminds me of one of the Strange Little Girls shots:

I figured as much that the snowflakes stem from a fashion photoshoot. It's just got that fashion photography glossiness to it.

And obviously that's not Tori's ear, as it's rather flat against the head.
Yes yes, don't worry. I realised.

Most of my alternate art is for b-sides 'albums' I put together for organization's sake:

    Little Earthquakes

    Under the Pink

    Boys for Pele

    From the Choirgirl Hotel

    Scarlet's Hidden Treasures

And the one cover for an album I actually changed:
    Midwinter Graces

I don't think my iTunes has the proper album art for any of her 00's albums. I even changed the Scarlet one to this:

This is the one I use for TBK:

Currently using this one for ADP, but I don't like it.

And this is the cover I use for AATS:

    and finally, Midwinter Graces:

    *perplexed*

I don't understand it, people. How is it possible that so many simple alterations to album art that we already have manages to capture so much about an album?

ebby, I LOVE your AATS cover! It's just loaded with so much of the themes she talked about. And your ADP cover - like other people's that were more or less the same idea - also captures the feel or vibe of the album. I can almost hear a "signature" song for each Doll in the background just looking at that cover.

Ugh... I really can't figure out where it all goes wrong in these chain of events:
    conceptualisation/idea ---> execution ---> editing ---> production.

    Anyone?

I didn't make any of those covers, except the Midwinter Graces one, and I don't remember where I got TBK one from - but I think it's just a crop of the tour booklet. It's possible that someone else made that too - it's been ages. But the AATS one was made by someone on atforumz, and was just too perfect to not use.

I use one of Georgia O'Keefe's Sky Above Clouds paintings for my AATS/ADP/MWG compilation, which I've called...

    In Blue

bouncing off clouds / abnormally attraced to sin / that guy / starling
fast horse / father's son / flavor / welcome to england / my posse can do
winter's carol / police me / body & soul / roosterspur bridge / almost rosey
curtain call / dragon / code red / lady in blue

It's my hunch that it inspired Bouncing off Clouds ("painted in mint ice cream"), vaguely backed up by Tori saying BoC was inspired by a visit to an art gallery, on a web chat.

ETA: Winter's Carol->Police Me FOR THE WIN, also Fast Horse->Father's Son is one of my fav segues.

ETAETA: Actually it's called "Fori In Blue" but that sounds more disparaging than I mean it to.
